There is really no pressure on the Bears anymore. All of the other vacant GM jobs have been filled. None of these guys can use the Bears as leverage. There is no bidding wars.

The San Diego Chargers have been awesome at the draft over the last decade. I just don't know if the guy they're interviewning had anything to do with it. He was the director of college scouting and just got named assistant to the Chargers GM.

Think of the offensive skilled players the Chargers have drafted in the last 10 or 12 years. I'm probably missing some but this is just off the top of my head. That's a lot of hits in the early rounds. I mean big hits.

It's odd the Bears announce the canidates they are interviewing so late tonight. Something like this should be done during business hours. They probably didn't want to release it. But the Bears heard and read the ridicule they were receiving for not having any canidates. That's why they released this info tonight. They wanted it to stop. Teddy wanted to show people he knows what he's doing. Now the damn media can focus on these canidates.

What difference does it make if this is announced at night or during the day?

It doesn't make a differnce. It just shows the Bears are concerned about public perception over this thing. That's all. They wanted to keep it private. They heard the ridicule and said "We have people motherfuckers!!!"

Yeah. If the Bears planned on releasing it, they would have done so between 9-5. It wasn't planned. It was a reaction to the heat they were taking.

I may be showing my racism but it sure looks like at least two of those guys would qualify as a minority.

Why are there no female GMs? I know it would be difficult to come up through the scouting side but certainly there should be someone on the business side who could do the job.

Ross is my pick. Young guy, I'm pretty sure he is a Yale grad. Head of college scouting that has plucked quite a few nice players for the Giants in the past few years.

This release feels to me like "Hey guys see, we are trying."

I'll believe it when they actually sit down w/ Ted and find out what the job really entails. You will see a lot of "I'm happy in my current situation."
