I hear people speculate on the Jets and Dolphins. No. If I were Peyton I wouldn't want these teams.

The perfect spot for him would be the 49ers. They'd be Super Bowl favorites with him.

After what Alex Smith didn't do Sunday in the NFC Championship for the 49ers, I think Peyton Manning would be ideal in San Francisco. He may have thrown 2 TD passes to Vernon Davis, but Smith didn't throw the ball nearly enough Sunday vs. the Giants in the rain & slop.

The impression I'm getting is that Peyton's days in Indianapolis are all but done, and I don't think he wants to baby likely #1 pick Andrew Luck if he's fully recovered from the neck injury that kept Peyton in street clothes all this past season.

I could see that happening, but the other scenario that I love is if Drew Brees does not re-sign with New Orleans, well...

Hub is stating that Irsay is going to keep Peyton.

I agree though. San Francisco could be a great situation.

Arizona could be a nice fit for him. I just don't see him in San Fran.

AZ is interesting. I'm not sure Peyton makes them a contender immediately. It would be a hot pick in Vegas though.

Are you guys high? Harbaugh will now ride with Alex Smith, not even a question.

Additionally, you don't think Peyton and Eli in NY at the same time does not appeal to him and every advertiser associated with the NFL?

PLUS the J E T S will pay the big $$$$ and they are a pretty good team without a QB!

Let's not overthink this. The only reason Irsay resigns Peyton should be to trade him and get something out of it.

Once Manning leaves Indy he is not going back there!

Mannings in NY together, the NFL is drooling!

He should retire. And that's not just selfishness on my part.

Not sure what his option is, but guessing $24 mill a year? 1 year? 2 years? Whats the point of that money if you need to rebuild?

Or Irsay says he will go for it, trade the #1, sign some top free agents?

But that is something a real owner would do that wants to win the Super Bowl, we dont know of such things.

The Jets are an outdoor, cold weather team full of huge douchebags and a coach to match. Peyton has to install his own offense as he is basically the OC and that will take time. I don't see that crew getting together on their own to work on stuff all offseason long.

Arizona on the other hand is an indoor team and Fitz is on the team. Arizona is also where a ton of players spend their offseasons already working out. He would basically have 7 on 7's all off season at the home base which would be essential to his continued success with a totally new group of players.

Why is Harbaugh married to Alex Smith? You don't think he'd say good bye to him if he could get Manning? Of course he would. Plus that 24 million would be pro rated against the Colts salary cap. That money is averaged out, against the cap, for how many year Manning has on his deal.

And Indy will have to cut Manning. They owe him a 24 million dollar bonus in March. If they trade him after paying the bonus, they don't get that 24 million back from the team trading for Manning. Indy eats it. The team that gets Manning just picks up his yearly base salary for the remainder of his contract.

They could pay the bonus and trade him, but I don't think Irsay is willing to give 24 million just to get a few first round draft picks. That a lot of money to eat.

If it happens, sounds like the top 2 teams are the Dolphins and Redskins.

I am starting to think it will all be mute, as I think Rob Lowe will be right and Manning will retire.

I don't see him staying in Indy.

I don't know if his dad has anything to do with it, but Peyton's been a douche lately. He's whining about the team's coaching and management turnover, despite collecting over $20m this year for not taking a single snap. I always get the feeling Archie is behind all the contract maneuvers with his kids.

IMO, the best teams for Peyton Manning:

1. Jets
2. Saints (if Brees leaves)
3. 49ers (they could upgrade from Smith)
4. Ravens (they could upgrade from Flacco)
5. Bills (they could just release Fitzpatrick, IDK how much this would cost the team)
6. Dolphins
7. Redskins (Rex is their back-up)

The intriguing new name I have heard mentioned recently is the Houston Texans. That offense would be a machine. He would also have the extra motivation to shove it up the Colts ass twice a year.

I heard Dan Patrick mention the Texans this morning on his show, UMN. He said there's a degree of doubt in Matt Schaub following a serious shoulder injury that cut his 2011 season short.

As for the Cardinals, two words...Kevin Kolb. Like Peyton in Indianapolis, Kevin's supposed to earn a lot of money next season. Unlike Peyton, the Cardinals still think Kevin's the long term QB out there in Glendale, AZ, even though John Skelton did a pretty good job taking over that offense down the stretch.

As far as Peyton & Colts' Owner Jim Irsay, that soap opera that's now playing out in the press seems reminiscent of a certain baseball team whose manager is now calling the shots with the Miami Marlins, but hasn't stopped his war of words with his former General Manager...

I wonder this on Manning, if we don't have the lockout, does Manning still have to deal with this injury, because I heard that if he got to see his people during the lockout, could have got the rehab he needed at the team's facitlities.

Manning should retire & become either the QB coach or the assistant OC for the Colts. He can work with Luck for a few years then take over as the Colts head coach.

I don't know if coaching is in Peyton Manning's blood, Scorehead. What's really hard to figure is Peyton's neck and whether it's really recovering on schedule. According to FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer yesterday on "The Dan Patrick Show", even he doesn't know if Peyton's neck will be healed by Opening Day next September.

The story isn't going away and has overshadowed a great deal of what the focus really should be to this point.

Then we might have to all finally admit that Rob Lowe is one of the greatest actors of our generation.
