Of course he beat expectations from the start of the season. If the Teboners had just taken that small victory and been happy they would have been fine. However, people like BD and JBills continued to build him up, as the quotes will show. You can't say "All he does is win" and then be right when he loses four of his next five. That kind of matters.

No one is doubting that Tebow beat expectations at least from the start of the year. The problem is that they were praising Him and cursing the non-believers, and then the non-believers totally dominated them for the last 5 games outside of the one win he was able to get.

I was on record the day after he lost by 5 TDs to Detroit. I win.

McCracken has been converted. Im sure there are similar success stories all over the universe.

The Bears game was all I needed to convince me. When Marion Barber was not running out of bounds and fumbling the game away I knew that it was all because of Timothy Richard Tebow. Hosannah in the highest and peace to his people on Earth

All Tebow did was prove how bad Kyle Orton was.

If the Bears manage to get the claim for Kyle Orton they make the playoffs

If you had to pick a QB to win one game, would you rather have Orton or Tebow?

At least it took Orton four years to lose the "All he does is win" myth. Tebow lost it halfway through his second year.

I don't get the relevance of this question.

I don't get the relevance of this question.

Orton is a serviceable NFL QB. Tebow did significantly better than him with the same roster. Stands to reason that would mean Tebow has a chance to be decent. That's why the Tebow camp is currently winning. The argument is whether he can play QB at the NFL level. Right now it looks like he can.

Keep on FavreFanning.

Do you also think the Chiefs should cut Cassel and give Orton a long term deal because he did significantly better than him with the same roster? I don't. I realize that the answer is more complex than that.

Keep on deflecting.

The differences in sample sizes invalidates your analogy.

Well, since Tebow lost a "win and you're in" game at home in week 17 to the KC lead Kyle Orton, the correct answer can only be Kyle Orton.

I realize you're being facetious but my last reply to Rick would apply here also.

I think there's a case to be made for either guy. Interesting that Rick chose to deflect instead of answering. I guess he's finally moved on from Orton.

 How so? The question was if you need to win ONE game, which guy would you want?

We saw this happen in week 17. Orton won....so that answers your question.

The point is that the reasons for the "success" of Tim Tebow are a lot more complex than just that he "played better" because he didn't really play that well. Now, Orton didn't play that well this year either.

Fair enough though. Let's put them on an equal sample size.

Kyle Orton's record his first two years:
12-6
Tim Tebow's record his first two years:
9-7

All he does is win.

Tebow got them 3 points. Defense let him down.

Which, by the way, was the only 1 of those 5 losses that Rick likes to keep pointing out where the defense didn't give up over 40 points.

Ok well using your very sound logic, I guess you'd take Eli if you had to win one game over Brady. I mean, they played a couple months ago and Eli won... So there's no case to be made that Brady is better.

I was hoping someone would bring up this point. So, are you saying that the defense lost them the game? How many points given up do you deem as a win by the defense, and how many points give up do you deem it as a loss by the defense?

Well using this logic Orton > Rodgers

You're slumping this week Rick. That comparison is significantly weaker because they were on entirely different teams. Compare them on the same roster and Tebow has had significantly better results.

I just didn't see the relevance in the question. I'd take Orton, but this isn't a thread about whether or not Orton is better than Tebow.

The FarveFanning is complete. Create an argument that there is literally no other counterpoint to because you discount all other scenarios because there is not a big enough sample size or it was different teams.
