Undeniably one of the Top 20 players in the league right now. Possibly one of the top 5 most-athletic.

But zero mid-range game.

Horrible balance in the post.

Benefitting greatly from a superstar PG.

Despite all of that, I feel he could be an MVP in the future.

Thoughts?

His mid range game is developing. He's awful on defense right now. Once he improves on that end, he'll be one of the best in the league. His offensive game is improving at or above the pace you'd like for just over a season of playing.

Good but not great.

Exciting but not efficient.

We'll see where he is in a few years.

I think it's a tad early to be criticizing him for some of these things. He's barely played one full season in the NBA

Despite having "zero mid range" he's still averaging 20+ PPG and shooting over 50%. In addition to 10+ RPG. Regardless of how he's getting those numbers, I think that's pretty impressive for basically a 2nd year player. As for the benefiting from a superstar PG, they didn't have Paul last year and his numbers were basically the same, in fact better.

I'm willing to give him a few years to develop some of the lacking aspects in his game, but I see no reason why he won't be a top 3-4 PF very soon.

how is 20+ PPG on over 50% shooting not efficient?

it's not like he's jacking up 35 shots to get those 20 points

Yeah bad word choice on my part.

Not a complete player yet is a better way of stating it.

I answered pretender, in large part because I'm not as sold on his Clippers as others appear to be. Besides, at last check, Vinny Del Negro is still coaching L.A.'s other NBA team.

the poll and thread is based on Griffin, not the Clippers as a whole

He'd be a contender elsewhere...The Clippers are a pretender.

Wow, SHARK hates Kevin Love & Blake Griffin. He's got some high standards for power forward play.

That's not true. Kevin Love is a very good player on a bad team. The Timberwolves are cellar dwellers in the NBA's Northwest Division, although I was real impressed with Ricky Rubio that one meeting vs. the Bulls.

T-Wolves are in the best division in the NBA Shark and very young. They've been competitive in almost every game and don't look to be bad for long.

They have been, but they're in the same division with the Thunder & Nuggets. Also, I can't think the Jazz & TrailBlazers are going to be bad at basketball forever.

Actually, Utah & Portland are in the middle of the Northwest Division. Truth be told, 4.5 games separate first place Oklahoma City & fourth place Portland in that division. It's too close to call.

as am I . don't take this away from me KS...i'm the resident Wolves shill

their salary situation is fine.

Barea and Wes Johnson aren't great contracts but they could be solid bench guys if they make a big move. no one else is really locked into a long term deal

im kinda torn on Beasley...do you think they should keep him?

They should get rid of Beasley. They need a 2 guard like Eric Gordon and they'd be a title contender within a couple of years IMO.

Btw Shark, the Jazz and Trailblazers are good at basketball.

The Jazz are bad at basketball.

John Stockton isn't walking through that door. Karl Malone isn't walking though that door. And Jeff Hornaceck isn't walking through that door. And if they did, they would be old and gray.
