Done deal.

Worked with Jay in Denver.

I'm as excited as I could possibly be over a QB coach

Good work.

Yeah, that's ok

Mike Tice. Should be able to utilize Cutler's talents better than Martz

spanky wrote:

Draft and Free Agency not started yet. Patience.

Jeremy Bates, Jeremy Bates' family, Jay Cutler, Mike Tice, Brandon Marshall, Chris Mortenson, and Pep Hamilton

Well, if Tice eliminates 7-15 step drops he's already ahead of Martz

I think they will get a WR in FA and in the draft

Yeah I hate when Noisewater pays hosts to drum up support for his opinions.

Bowe, Jackson, Wayne, Colston, all should be available and its a good draft for WR (or looks to be)

Have they hired a passing game coordinator? Or is Bates going to handle that along with helping Jay?

No, I am not afraid to draft a WR at 19. I want them to take the best available player.

and Lloyd sucks

I didn't make a claim to his greatness. I said he was better than any WR on the 2011 Chicago Bears.

Your hyperfocus on that misstatement of my position is causing you to miss the point entirely.

I havent hyperfocused on anything. I believe your theory that OL are a safer bet in the draft is wrong and it definitely interferes with the larger "best player available" logic.

You seem afraid of busting on a WR at 19. I think the bust is just as likely with the OL, so if you have a WR you like better, take him

Wasn't he on the Bears like 2 years ago?

Again, you are incorrect. I specifically said a left tackle or linebacker in the first round.

You asked for a list of linemen and I provided it.

No, I am not.

Your list was evidence, in your opinion, that OL are a safer bet than WR, was it not?

Im not afraid to take a WR in the first round. You wouldnt take one right?

How will Tice utilize Cutler better if he's not even trusted to call passing plays?

At the very least it will be nice to have an OC that will allow Cutler to make some audible calls at the line

I wouldn't take one in the Bears current situation.

I would.

Im thinking more long term than next year. I want things done differently. I want players taken thinking of the next 5 years, not just next year in a Lovie job saving attempt.

If the best player is a WR, take him. Drafting for immediate need just seems like going backwards to me.

If you are truly thinking long term wouldn't protecting your potential franchise QB be the priority? I could give a crap if Lovie gets an extension or what but I would like to see Cutler finish the season healthy for a change.

They have enough immediate needs that finding one at 19 shouldn't be a problem.

If there are absolutely no quality LTs, LBs, DTs, DEs, or Safeties...or cornerbacks...left at 19, then I'm on board with getting a WR this year.

If you are worried about 2+ years down the road, there is no need for a 1st-round WR now. But, we had this discussion. So, we disagree.

How many games has Cutler missed with an injury caused by lack of protection? His injury this year was not caused by anyone but him trying to make a tackle and I don't know if anyone knows where he was injured in the NFC title game the year before.

Free Agency comes before the draft. A lot of this will be decided by who they are able to get.

Im crossing my fingers that some Tackle has a fallout/contract dispute with their team and becomes availabe.

Are you arguing that your potential for injury does not increase in proportion to the number of times you are hit?
