First of all, from the minority viewpoint, I’d like to commend the termination of Critics. I thought it was time to bag that segment a while ago.

Mac, my question is this: how do you view the changes thus far under Justin L. Craig? Personally, I feel the station has gotten weaker under his watch and I find myself listening to the Score more often than I used to. Previously, I was about 50/50 between the two throughout the day. Now, it’s more like 70/30 in favor of the Score. I’m not a fan of Justin’s use of the rotation, nor am I a fan of the micro-scheduling: 1 hour for Motorsports Weekly, 1 hour for The Show, Chicago Baseball Tonight (radio hell, by the way), etc. Any chance we can get a regular rotation going, with actual partnerships? Also, any word on Waddle moving to the 9am slot? And if so, what effect would that have on the rest of the station’s line-up? Thanks.

Mac,
Please ask Jurko (the NFL expert) why Briggs doesn't just take the $7.2 mil the Bears are offering for this year, play the full schedule, and use some of it to purchase a $10 million insurance policy on himself. That way he still gets paid in case of a career ending injury.

Lebron & Oden did that in high school & college, and I know teams insure players all the time, so why couldn't a player do it privately?
Is the premium prohibitive?

Mac,

I'm just curious if you and/or Jurko peruse the other categories on this board.

Mac,

It's been said that you resemble a live-action Barney Rubble. However, has anyone told you that you sound like the guy who did Fred Flintstone's voice? Seriously, go back and find a Flintstones cartoon and listen to yourself...hard to tell the difference.

Mac,

Please shed some light on this: what is ESPN management's philosophy regarding programming and program content? I ask this more so in regards to their national shows. It seems that each time I listen to Dan Patrick or one of their morning shows on the weekend, the same issue or topic is discussed for what seems to be the whole show. Sure, other topics are tossed in, but their seems to be one issue that the hosts focus on and really beat to death during their shows. A good example was today's Curt Schilling "Sock-gate" episode.

Also, what gives with Hank Goldberg and all the Miami coverage during draft day? Each year I watch, I see that they have cameras placed in Miami and Hank is there to cover it. But, it doesn't stop there. During the season they follow Miami as if they are really a major contender for the Super Bowl. I know that Goldberg is stationed there and does a radio show from Miami, but what's so special about Miami each year?

Recently I've been thinking Jurko and Ron Santo sound more and more alike! Not sure who's morphing into who though.

Mac,

Any chance you'll use Briar Ridge for an outing in the future?

posted this in the 'ask mac' thread as well

in lieu of a couple of today's callers..

what, if any, responsibility does the station have if a caller gets past the delay and a comment like, 'joe buck you fucking suck!,' makes it onto the air?

If you guys don't want callers asking "how are you doing", why do you ask everyone of your guests, "How you feeling man"?

I always wondered that.

Great question, I've never thought about it that way but it's very true.

"Dan McNeil Need Taste Of Chicago Food Ticket!"

^ Sorry, Couldn't resist waxing nostalgic.

Mac,

On Down The Dial:

What are your thoughts on the Murph/TB Cold War, and Why do you think Mike North Still Has A Job at this point?

On the Cubs:

Who would you like to see own the team post Tribco?

On the Bears:

If they allow the team to disintegrate in the coming years as they did post 85, what are your thoughts on the possibilty of a fan revolt and walkout against the McCaskeys? Would this be the last straw? If not, what would be?

Thanks!

Mac,

If we are lucky enough to have Dollar Bill Wirtz sell the Black Hawks, would we get more hockey talk before Finji is able to sound the hockey horn? I'll turn my computer off and wait for my answer.

I had to bump this because some of the content on this thread is amazing. Check out the thoughts on a yet to be fired Salisbury.
