working on anything past 10 PM, it is just a great show to listen to. He lets callers talk, he answers the questions, never mocks a caller (no matter how dumb),never dumps callers.

It's a nice change from listening to the "I have an opinion that is the same as Dan's, can I get on the air?"

Les sucks. Half the time he has no clue how to answer questions from callers so he responds with a wierd & strange response, which many times is just made up bullshit.
Remember that a couple of years ago I was the guy lobbying for a Les section on this board. Then I came to my senses & the realization that Les is just a phoney who makes up a lot of his stats & facts.
Les is horrible. Matty should be doing overnights, but he isn't in the Joo club like Les is.

Wow,Scorehead. I thought you and I had the same opinion on everything.
Guess what? your kind of right. I love Les BUT 6 hour and 7 hour shows are crazy.
When I work late and come home late,I put Les on. A lot of times it sounds like
he has it on "autopilot". I blame it on being burnt out (and weird callers...Screen these assholes!!!). Give Les a 4 hour show and he shines. His memory is amazing. Talking about the 1972 WHA Chicago Cougar lineup like he just saw the game yesterday. He is a Chicago treasure.

I appreciate the SCORE putting on a real host on overnights, whoever it is. Not often I'm up that late listening to the radio, but it's nice to find when I am.

Is there anyone else who would take on a 7 hour show. That's ironman stuff.

Les is great for overnights. I'd hate him with a daytime shift but he is perfect right now.

Les sucks and I believe people have posted examples of his "great" memory being total bullshit.

I was right with you until you dropped the "Joo club" comment. I don't think that was necessary.

IMHO Les is unlistenable. This wasn't the point of the thread but off the top of my head, my ranking of unlistenable sports talkers would be:

1. Mike North
2. Les Grobstein
3. Harry Teinowitz
4. Laurence Holmes
5. Tie between many people: Boers, Joe O and whoever he hosts with, Rosenbloom, Kaplan, Murph, Memolo, Jesse Rogers, etc.

An emphatic +1.

Many of you can mock him if you want, but in all the years I've listened to Score overnights, I've never heard anyone comparable in that shift.

Didn't the Score have a "best of" show overnights?

They did but then they realized they had to fill 4 1/2 more hours.

He's a perfect fit for that graveyard shift. The only better choice would probably be North. Could you imagine that guy having a live mic for 7 hours a night?

Les Grobstein blows.

I'm sure it's a smooth transition from his show to Mully and Hanley.

I wouldn't mind trading places with Les one night. I don't know of any other sports talk radio host, locally or nationally, who would take on 7 hours like the Grobber.

In an ideal world, SCORE management should have Laurence Holmes trim the 9p hour of his show, have a Jason Goff, Matt Abbatacola or Ben Finfer start up at 9p and go until Midnight, or have LoHo add the 10p hour and start "SCORE Overnight" at 11p.

I used to think that as well but Les has gotten three different women to marry him and had at least one other in Seattle for that all star game fiasco. Les gets ladies.

Imagine being the wife of grobber and having him bring home hot dogs from the press' free food buffet that have been stuffed in his pockets for several hours.

You can say whatever you want about Les, but he goes to the World Series and the Super Bowl and does his show from there. Very few if any of the other hosts actually go to big events or even press conferences. They must be too busy lecturing callers on what is a proper sports thought.

Fitting that this was the 666 post.

Miss a little, miss alot....I'll be lookin' for that.

Sini, that there is a thing up there. Thank you for the Cliffnotes version. 8)
I get a special happy feeling when ever I hear Grobber's open with the Stones. I always laugh just a little each time I hear it. I actually picture Les and Butt-head hanging out when he pops on there. (not Kevin)
