I have no idea how Pierce made it over Granger. Reputation vote I guess.

Also Rondo is definitely one of the 12 best players in the East.

Joe Johnson? do they have to take a player from the Hawks or something?

Even if they do they grabbed the wrong one. Josh Smith is the better player and more important Hawk.

there's no question Rubio would be massively entertaining in an all-star game

Agree on Josh Smith over Joe Johnson.

Haven't checked stats on either, but after their slow starts, admitted out of shapeness <-----word?, and several games missed by both players, I don't believe Pierce or Dirk should've made it.

All that said, the biggest snub is Jeremy Lin.

Dammit man.....you have a Daytona 5OO to be focusing on that day. You must then channel your innner Dave Despain and talk about the race for 1O plus hours after the drop of the checker.

I think Kyle Lowry and Ty Lawson were at least equally deserving as Rubio, although the AS game is tailor-made for Rubio.

He'll be in the newly formatted rook/soph game though no? That'll be fun!

true, but he deserves to play with the big boys
the rook/soph game always seems interesting but then disappoints.

Yeah but the captains choosing teams idea is PHENOMENAL. They should scrap the East/West and do this for the regular game - except just choose 2 players to be captains, like LeBron/Kobe and eventually LeBron/Durant or Rose/Durant.

Ivan The Terrible should have made it in.

I was in Dallas and watched live when Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans were in it. Tyreke stole the show. That was two years ago. At the time, I said he'd be a top-five guard in two years.

well the hope is that he would improve on those, not stagnate....he seems to force the action too much, much like Wall and Jennings do

Brandon Jennings...I think we might have seen the top of his game already.

As much as I don't want to admit it, this is likely true. He has quickly spent the last two seasons becoming "just a guy". I'd sooner have DJ Augustin running my team than Jennings.

As a fan, I'll always have the memories of that 50-point performance at Golden State to fall back on. That's about it.

When your PG looks to shoot first and isn't that good of a shooter that's a bad combination

I would say that same thing about Evans, but at least he has the body/strength to take it to the hole and finish or get fouled

Good to see the Bulls' Luol Deng, torn wrist and all, along with the Sixers' Andre Iguadola make this year's NBA All-Star team on the Eastern Conference squad, very likely to be coached by the Bulls' own Tom Thibodeau. This despite Coach Thibs trying to downplay it in the postgame after their win over the Hornets Wednesday night.

Stealing ideas from Barkely huh?

That idea has been talked about since the 90's.

So you didn't get it from Barkley last night?

Nope.

No I actually only watched the first 5-10 minutes and then had to go out to dinner.

Does anyone remember when Brad Miller was an all-star?

Unfortunately, I've met my quota of 3 threads per day. Maybe someone else wants to start it?

I found that in 2003 and 2004, Miller was on the All-Star team.
