I've got a six-disc changer in the car and Astral Weeks is always in the first slot. That's the one I never switch out. "Ain't nothin' but a stranger in this world."

I keep seeing this referred to as a seminal piece of music and highly influential to a lot of artists ( Van Morrison played a ton of stuff) but am ashamed to say Ive never given it a listen. I will rectify that this week.

When I was done listening to it for the first time, I had to immediately play it back, and I can't think of a time I've ever done that before....

Real quick off the top of my head...I know I'm forgettings omething, but I have two sets:

Favorite songs that happen to be the first track:

U2 - Beautiful Day
Matchbox Twenty - Real World
Don Henley - The End of the Innocence

Songs that aren't quite great but really do a great job of setting up the tone for the rest of the album:

U2 - Zoo Station
Collective Soul - Tremble for My Beloved
Ben Folds Five - One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces
