Prediction: Lin will start at PG in 2013 AS game

Obviously Rose will deserve it more but all Lin has to do is stay moderately good and China will make sure he leads the NBA in voting. If Lin sustains something close to his level of play the past 6 game for NY for the forseeable future Rose might get screwed a few times.

The curse doesn't apply to NBA PGs. I was right in '07-'08 when I was called an idiot for saying CP3 was the best PG in the league, and right when I was called an idiot for saying Rondo is a future All Star back in '08.

When I said that he was. Rose is clearly the best PG in the league now, a little ahead of Paul. And Rondo/Deron would be 3 and 4 depending on the rest of the roster.

That was less than halfway through his 3rd year and I said "I'm not sure Rose is better than Rondo". It hadn't been clear long enough at that point in my opinion. How rapidly Rose has been improving the past two seasons is pretty remarkable. He still doesn't have the complete game that Paul has but it's improved enough that along with his dominant scoring ability he has become the best PG in the league, but 13 months ago it wasn't as clear.

Edit: Nevermind, I just realized that was less than halfway through his 2nd year. Him and Rondo were close at that point. Didn't Rondo average 20+ points and a triple double against the Bulls in the playoffs a few months after posting that? That was a terrible example for you to bring up.

Look at my edit. That was a terrible example by you. If I say Rubio is better than Rondo right now that's a dumb statement to make. If Rubio improves exponentially and becomes clearly better in 2014 that doesn't make it any less of a dumb statement to make on February 15, 2012.

That's because he wasn't. Rose took a huge leap in his 3rd season. After two seasons he was a better scorer than Rondo, Rondo was a better passer, rebounder, and defender. Rose's vast improvement in the halfcourt and as a defender turned him into the best PG in the league. He wasn't there after two seasons.

I did misremember the playoffs though in the above post though. Rondo destroyed the Bulls in Rose's rookie season, not his second season.

Of course not, but you're doing your Rick thing of simplifying or misstating the other person's position. Going from one of the five worst coach's in the league to one of the five best helped him much more than you seem willing to acknowledge. I've noted the improvements in Rose's game and why I thought Rondo was better two years ago. You seem unwilling or unable to argue anything of substance against my position. FavreFan, your premise is flawed. It's the top 2 players at their position. It doesn't matter if its shooting guard or point guard. Both Carmelo and LeBron play small forward, and they were voted in.
