Melo trade and what it did to the Knicks is what emptying the non-Rose roster to get Dwight Howard would do to the Bulls.

The Bulls would get an awesome asian PG?

How is it that this Lin kid is a Harvard grad but during his interviews sounds like he might've needed a ringer to take his SAT to get into Memphis.

I don't think Lin sounds dumb in interviews and post game press conferences.

I didn't say Lin sounds dumb in his various interviews, just not that much more intelligent than, say, D Rose. Rose is no doubt more intelligent than his academic achievement indicates, but Lin doesn't strike me as a shining example of what 4 years of Harvard should produce. Or even what you'd think an average Harvard matriculate would sound like.

Tell that to Dan Bernstein. Maybe he'll listen.

I just hope that Lin can keep up his game. It's nearly impossible to live up to the hype. He has holes in his game, but the hype can make him seem better than he is.

When his hoops career is over maybe he can partner up with Mike North.

A better question would be who hasn't played PG for the Knicks before Lin

Douglas and Shumpert.

Neither are good. They were waiting on Baron Davis - who is no longer great anymore either. They had no solid options.

You're forgetting about Bagels' guy, Bibby.

This guy knew who Lin was when he was coming out of college. Said he would be a star then. This guy seems like the Bill James of the NBA.

Point guards are going to tend to have more turnovers because they handle the ball on just about every possession.

He had 7 turnovers today, but 14 assists and 28 points.

...and those 7 turnovers all came in the 2nd half, along with 18 points 10 assists and 3 steals.

the kid looks pretty legit... he doesn't seem to be afraid of nothing or at least in awe of being in the NBA, he's got a solid jump shot that he seems to be pretty damn timely with, and he'll get to the basket and make things happen.

when you're a point guard that has to be respected for a midrange ~17ft jumper at all times, AND you're able to get to the basket fairly often, good things are going to happen with your assist totals as you're able to get your teammates good looks at open/easy buckets. the only time dallas really showed down the guy who's been artifically linseminated into our veritable mental wombs was in the 3rd quarter when they str8up doubled him and trapped him whenever he had the ball.

otherwise, wow, he had his first big national ABC game and he owned that motherfucker for sure. props given!

I think you have to give him a break on the turnovers. He's still mostly a rookie and the Knicks recent success is mostly due to him.

He does play pretty recklessly, but it gets results. I can see why teams thought he was hard to coach though.
