I really don't want to be shelling out a lot of money at the game for food or drinks.

Yeah, I'll be eating at the bottom lounge for sure. There won't be a lot of food/drink purchased at the UC.

After the game, I'll be going home to watch the Bud Shootout.

Some others have posted some stuff, but here's how I see everything going down:

I'm going to get to the Bottom Lounge around 11:30. I want to make sure we can get some seating all in the same area. Others are free to arrive whenever they want, and it sounds like that will be around noon for most.

For those who have never been to the Bottom Lounge, the address is 1375 W. LAKE ST. CHICAGO IL 60607. If you're taking public transportation, there's a Green Line stop at Ashland & Lake, which will let you off about 2 blocks west of the Bottom Lounge.

I plan on walking to the United Center from the Bottom Lounge, but feel free to drive there if you want. Parking should be free by the Bottom Lounge if you want to leave your car there. I've only been to one show there, and I know I didn't have to pay for any metered parking or anything, but that was about 3 or 4 years ago, so i'm not 100% sure that area is still not metered. The walk to the United Center should probably take about 15-20 minutes I think. I walk to the UC from the Ashland Green Line stop alot, and the Bottom Lounge is only a couple blocks further, so it's not too far.

I think we'll leave the bar to head over to the UC around 2:30ish. Tip off is at 3:00, so that should give us plenty of time to get over and get inside and to our seats.

After the game, if anyone still wants to hang out for awhile, we could head over to the Cobra Lounge. That's back in the same direction as the Bottom Lounge and it's near the Ashland & Lake Green Line stop. Many of us will have to walk back in that direction anyway, so it seems like a good place for a post-game gathering.

The bar (Famous Freddie's) that used to be in that same location was much better (mostly because it wasn't a part of the Moretti's franchise).

Famous Freddie's in Fox Lake was legit. Definately went downhill after it became Moretti's and because people kept calling the cops for things getting too rowdy. I went to HS with the niece of the Moretti's I am happy for myself.

Its a little south and east of the UC. I haven't been there in about 3-4 years, but it worked to pregame at then. Never ate there, looked decent enough back then. Was just throwing it out there was all.
