I still don't expect her to do well at Daytona though. I mean I HOPE she does, but it's a bit much to ask at this point.

Look at the Camping Truck race, as well as the Nationwide race. It didn't seem to matter who you were, as trucks and cars were wrecking all over the place.

Lots of rules changes obviously this year at Daytona. Even the veteran drivers have had a tough go of things. Tens of millions of dollars have been lost in those wrecks.

Danica is a welcome addition. She has ties to Wisconsin and Illinois. She's hot. She's humble. And she's gonna help bring in even more fans and dollars to Nascar. Which is a good, good thing for all of us.

Danny's fans aren't really fans of racing, they are fans of Danny who don't know a thing about racing...& they are annoying as hell.

I like Danny.

I like racing.

I know a couple things about both.

You obviously don't understand that both of her crashes this week were clearly her fault.

Clearly.

Every driver that has ever arrived on the Sprint Cup circuit was a wildly overqualified World Champion.

Look it up.

It fine to like her because she is hot, but please don't say that she got where she is because of her driving acumen. You're a long time NASCAR like me & you know better than that.

We've been through this. You are wrong again. If you think I like Danica due to her looks, you couldn't be more wrong. If you actually show up, I'd love to see you at a remote and buy you a beer and explain it all to you.

Please list Trevor Bayne's driving record prior to 365 days ago. Danica's is way, way better.

Ive been to a bunch of remotes...we may have met.

I'll re-post Danny's career stats & record if you want. If you just look at her stats & record without knowing who it was, you would think below average & mediocre. Trevor Bayne has already won as many races as Danny has. Danny is not way way better than Bayne. Right now, hes a better stock car driver than sweetcheeks.

You must have mis-read my post.
365 days ago - how did Trevor Bayne's career record look?
Here is the answer - you don't have to look: it was way, way worse than Danica's.

Spanky,

I'm not sure why we are comparing Trevor Bayne to Danny, but I'll play along.

Here are the stats:

TREVOR BAYNE
Nationwide Series:
80 career starts
1 Win
11 Top 5 finishes
27 Top 10 finishes
Poles, 4
Average starting position, 10.8
Average finishing position, 15.5
Laps led, 250
Career earnings, $2.7 Million.

Sprint Cup Series:
18 career starts
1 Win
1 Top 5 finishes
1 Top 10 finishes
Poles, 0
Average starting position, 19.3
Average finishing position, 25.3
Laps led, 11
Career earnings, $3 Million.

DANICA PATRICK
Nationwide Series:
26 career starts
1 Win
1 Top 5 finishes
3 Top 10 finishes
Poles, 1
Average starting position, 21.9
Average finishing position, 23.5
Laps led, 20
Career earnings, $770K

You might want to actually review the stats before you choose a driver to try to help bolster your side of the argument, because if you did you wouldn't have chosen Bayne as an example since his career Nationwide stats are way way better than Danny's.

And to the poster who said that Patrick is humble...Thursday at 5:00, WYC. Danny has the same reputation in NASCAR that Tiger Woods has in Golf, with the big difference being that Woods actually has (had) game.

You clearly can't read.

1 year ago, Bayne had exactly zero wins in Nationwide and zero wins in Cup. Not saying Danica gets wins in both, but at this point her career accomplishments are better than his at the same time.

Sweetcheeks Nationwide stats are no where close to Baynes. Compare each of their first 2 years in Nationwide, It isn't close my friend.

Weather Report:

Daytona is getting pissed on currently. This rain would be more than welcomed in a few weeks after Daytona Bike week to wash away whatever the hell they leave behind.

It looks like it will clear up between 2 and 5 EST:

Fire up the lights for a day to night race.

My prediction is a green flag drop around 4:14 EST. The may kick it an hour for people to get off of work though. This should ensure a Cena-less drop of the flag.

Tonight's broadcast will be a Keeping Score production. Possibly with a special co-host. I've already taken last Thurs. and Friday off work for the Duels and my birthday, don't know if I can take a third day off in a row. :(

It is supposed to stop raining around 6pm ET. That would indicate it still wouldn't start until around 8:30-9pm ET.

Other than the dorks that are KS and kujoe, who the fuck cares about a wrestler waving the green flag?

Taylor Swift is probably a big NASCAR fan. She likes watching things that go around in circles.

Did Oregon stop their mandatory drug testing? I thought for a while that the WWE was avoiding the state entirely because they considered wrestling a sport and therefore they were subject to drug testing.

Doesn't look so great for tonight. Don't really want to just get 30 laps in either and call it a day. Could they take one of the off weekends and re-book it for Daytona?
