Edwards and Kyle Busch have to go to the rear of the field for having a tear-off removed during the red flag.

You may make it home in time for the finish. They still haven't gotten the track ready yet.

Hopefully Keeping Score isn't so drunk that he forgot to record the show.

Should we rejoin him? I thought it would be done by the time I was done business consulting.

What's the over/under we finish under caution? I see a crazy couple laps, strange crash and finish under yellow.

It could be worse. It could be twenty minutes of my junk, like the Don and Con with the In ustream. Just saying. That happened.

A real salute to Don and Keeping Score. You guys are trying to start something, and ended up with the first cancelled Daytona ever. I look forward to working with you kids in the future. We can work out the technical issues together. A big "hey how ya' doing" to everyone else that helped these guys along the way!

It was a long day's journey into night for the Daytona 500. Already postponed by rain for the first time in the event's history, the race was originally scheduled to be run at 11a (CT) yesterday but more rain around the speedway prompted the first prime time "Great American Race" ever held at one of motorsports' signature tracks.

The event ended early for Danica Patrick's #10 GoDaddy.com Chevy and 5-time NSCS Champion Jimmie Johnson's #48 Lowe's Chevy on lap 2 when both cars crashed shortly after the green flag finally dropped. Although Danica did return to the track, she was well out of contention and finished 38th in her Sprint Cup debut, while Jimmie finished 42th.

The real drama happened when FOX was coming out of a break when Juan Pablo Montoya's #42 Target Chevy skidded and hit a safety truck normally used to clean up the surface during a yellow caution flag. The truck, carrying some 200 gallons of jet kerosene burst into flames and prompted a red flag with 40 laps to go and lasted just over 2 hours. Luckily for both Montoya and the driver of the safety truck, neither was seriously injured but track officials ended up pouring Tide laundry detergent among substances to clean up the massive mess. I'm not making this up.

When they FINALLY cleaned up the mess on the track, the crashes and yellow flags resumed and it appropriately ended with a green-white-checkered finish. Despite Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s #88 Diet Mountain Dew/National Guard Chevy passing by Greg Biffle's #16 3M Ford on the final lap, Matt Kenseth's #17 Best Buy Ford held off Dale Jr. to claim the checkered flag just before Midnight (CT) to win his second Daytona 500 in the last 4 years. Kenseth took the checkered flag in this race in 2009 and also became the first NASCAR driver to win the 500 as well as a Gatorade Duel race in the same year since Dale Jr. in 2004. "The Biff" finished 3rd, Denny Hamlin's #11 FedEx TOYOTA 4th & Jeff Burton's #31 Caterpillar Chevy finished 5th after all that.

Up next, NASCAR heads out West, and needless to say, weather shouldn't be an issue next Sunday when the Subway Fresh Fit 500 will be run at Phoenix International Raceway in suburban Avondale, AZ. Jeff Gordon's #24 AARP Drives Hunger Chevy took the checkered flag in this race a year ago. FOX Sports' HD coverage revs up at 1:30p Sunday from trackside.
