I could go for Monday night NASCAR every Monday night. It was great & I'll bet the ratings were huge.
HUGE... It lost to a singing show.
The 2012 Daytona 500 may have gotten off to a late start Monday (Feb. 27) night, but it still managed to squeak out a ratings victory in the 8 p.m. slot with 14.5 million viewers. The NASCAR race was neck and neck with NBC's "The Voice," which took over the lead in its second hour with 15.3 million viewers.
And, a small victory for fans of "Smash," the Broadway baby was up a bit over last week in the 10 p.m. hour with 6.9 million viewers, compared to 6.5 million the previous Monday. It was still slightly edged out of the 18-49 victory by "Hawaii Five-0."
FOX claimed victory for the night with 14.2 million viewers and a 8.2 rating/12 share in households. NBC was second (7.3/11), beating out CBS (6.3/10), ABC (5.6/9) and the CW (0.9/1).
The adults 18-49 win also went to FOX, with a 4.5 rating -- a small margin ahead of NBC with 4.4. CBS delivered 3.1, ABC 2.4 and the CW 0.5.
