I agree with you, but many here don't. Panther has often equated posting on this board to "Playing in Big Fan's backyard", which is greatly overstating things in my opinion.

I equate that to the "If you criticize your country then you're not a good American" mentality.

Absolutely but I don't think it should stop at Big Fan. In my opinion, no one should go out of their way to be a dick or antagonize anyone. And if that were happening to Big Fan, I'd definitely see his side of it. But Big Fan is just as capable of dishing it out as well. I don't think any one poster is more valuable than another.

I know it doesn't. I ran a gaming board for a couple years back when running boards involved the actual editing of text based files instead of some extremely easy to use web GUI.

But it was fun because it is a forum. There is no "job" involved. You get the board running, and then #profit. A little maintenance here and there...and make sure no member is trying to destroy the forums. That's all it takes. Oh, and $10-$20 per month, less if you buy a year in advance.[/quote]
