Jets probably know they don't have a chance for Goober.

The Jets are way dumber than the Browns for this. We know Sanchez is BAD. RGIII has a good chance of being a franchise QB.

The Jets are the dumbest franchise in professional sports. They deserve to eat every dime of that contract.

There go's my Jets prediction, but I'm glad Peyton wont be playing for blowhard Rex Ryan.

As for the Redskins, giving up 3 1st round & a 2nd round draft pick is insane.

And multiple sources say that the Redskins are still trying to sign Manning???

This is like bizarro-world alternate NFL world in Washington.

No, this is pretty typical of the Redskins, they try to win the Spring Super Bowl with big moves, then they don't have to try to win the real super bowl.

I think the Redskins gave up too much also, but it's not 3 first round picks, it's 2.

No. It's three. You have to count the one they are trading this year too. It's 3 for 1.

You can't count it because they're moving up in the draft. They still have a 1st round pick this year.

It's 3 first round picks in exchange for one right? It counts. It's "3".

This will be 3 pages soon. Unless you don't count the first page.

-Or-

The Skins traded 3 1st-round draft picks in order to 'guarantee' themselves the right to draft RG III. You can't argue semantics with that.

But part of the trade moves them from #6 this year to #2. How is that considered a negative? Then they lose the next 2 first rounders, so it's 2 picks lost.

If they just swapped 1st picks this year - would it be one for one? Answer: yes, of course.

So they did that - and then threw in two more 1st rounders, so now it's 3 for 1.

They traded 3 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick for one first round pick, which presumably will be used on RG III.

I'll go on record and say I like the deal for both teams. The Skins have been chasing a QB for a while and it appears they will get a franchise QB. The sad thing is this ends the Rex Grossman era.

I think its easy to initially think the Jets gave up a bad contract but they didn't. If you break down the numbers, unless they were planning on releasing sanchez right now, its not a bad deal at all.

The Redskins are still the Redskins. I liked RGIII in college but he may very well suck in the NFL and they just gave up an absurd amount for him. Sign Matt FLynn and draft Blackmon....whichever team does this will get tremendously better.

The only way this ends up being a good deal for the Redskins is if they draft RG3 & he ends up being a HOF QB. The chances of that happening are slim. RG3 isn't a lock to be a great NFL QB...especially on the 'Skins.
This was a dumb & stupid deal made by Shanny. Good for the Rams.

Does confirm that the Mannings are the Divas of the NFL, that they can't both play in NY...because Peyton should be there...

Yeah, I spoke too soon. From what I understand, it frees up something like $6.5mm in cap room this year and gives the Jets the flexibility to ditch Sanchez with basically no penalty after the 2013 season (or even after the 2012 season if they're willing to eat some of the money). Once Manning turned them down I guess they figured they may as well restructure Sanchez and keep him around rather than pay him and Jason Campbell to be a Platoon of Mediocrity.

Imagine having to live through a 3 win season without looking forward to the draft pick that goes along with it.

The odds on this trade are pretty heavily that it will be bad for the Redskins. He's got to be near hall of fame status to make it clearly the right choice. They only moved up 4 spots. Is there any reason to believe the team wouldn't be better with Ryan Tannehil(possibly with a trade down to get him) and 3 more high potential players? Even getting Kirk Cousins in the second round and taking a stud at #6 would have been better in my opinion.

It's just a lot to give up for a guy that seems to be riding the hype. I also am concerned about his style and his size. Cam Newton can get away with some of the stuff he does because of how big he is. Griffin can't do that.
