I love it! Hell of a deal. They should be able to get Williams and many other pieces. I'm excited.

Probably not getting Williams now right?

Id take Marshall over Williams if its one or the other.

You can find a DE to start right away in the draft

Well there was a tweet by Troy McClure's brother saying Bears see it as too expensive and they just added Marshall's whole salary

1. It's not that easy - see past drafts
2. Even if they did find one, it wouldn't be on par with the overall #1 pick like Williams.

I still want Mario.

He's wrong. Bears will have him locked up before dinner time tomorrow.

You might remember me from such free agent signings as "here is a 2 decade contract, Alfonso Soriano," and "Adam Dunn, you can eat cheeseburgers and hit 11 homeruns for our team!"

Marshall's one of the most laughably overrated players in the league, but two thirds is a good deal for the Bears.

I'd consider Marshall and Marcus Mc Neil a great free agency period.

Yeah over 80 recs and 1000 yds for 5 years in a row is way overrated

but they would have had to pay through the nose for Jackson and there is not a single player left in FA who approaches their level

 He is a piece of work. He just cannot get over how cheaply they got him. If they had given up more he would be the first one complaining about that.

It's nice to see the Bears get a great player, healthy and in his prime, on the cheap. I've seen enough of the first round pick for Rick Mirer. Thomas Jones, a second round pick for a higher second round pick (Dan Bazuin). JUST BE HAPPY FOR ONCE HUB!

Those numbers come at the cost of a lot of incompletions.

No idea what Ditka has to do with anything.

Pretty much. The value on the deal is excellent, and obviously he instantly becomes the best WR on the team, but it's not like the Bears robbed the Fins or something. Marshall offers big plays, but he's extremely inefficient on a per-play basis, which is why despite his physical tools he's not in the class of the elite #1s like Fitz and Megatron. That's all.

Who else is in that class? Andre Johnson? 3 person class

Who said he's in that class?

I didn't say anyone did. The deal itself is fine. Two thirds is terrific value considering Miami paid two seconds for him a couple years ago. He offers some big plays, and he'll certainly get a bump from playing with Cutler as opposed to Henne/Moore. But he can be frustrating because he's so ungodly inefficient on a per-play basis. That's all.

True. He does drop balls. I think he's definitely on the tier right below Fitz/Andre/Megatron

I actually think he's a tier below that, but agree to disagree. I obviously am not a Marshall fan, but even I can't argue with two third-rounders, and right now that's all that matters.
