Now what excuse will be used when the Knicks continue to suck?

The flip is what could be frightening. What if they actually started playing like a team?

Bring in Isaih to coach em up and all will be good.

Their success came when they were playing like a team.

When Carmelo came back, and Baron Davis was finally healthy, the team began to suck. I can't believe he got forced out like that.

especially seeing as the majority of the players supported him and wanted to play for him, from all accounts

Oh I agree. They did play like a team and won. Getting back to that could be bad news. Hopefully it doesn't happen.

I am a big fan of pouty Baron.

The run and gun, offense only gameplans don't work as well as they did several years ago. Most of the top teams play reasonably good defense.

but wouldn't that style of offense result in a large number of assists?

If they don't win now the backlash against Carmelo is going to be huge.

Wasn't there a lot of hand wringing when the Bulls didn't sign him couple years ago?

Agreed.

This is going to be awesome. It's obvious he's the main reason why D'Antoni resigned. He's going to get killed if they fail to make the playoffs or get bounced in the first round.

You can't win with an Asian point guard. SHOW. ME. A. TEAM. THAT. HAS. WON. A CHAMPIONSHIP. WITH. AN. ASIAN. POINT GUARD.

Personally, I'd still take Carmelo right now. Aside from everything else, the guy can still score whenever he wants. Would've been nice to have that in the last 5 minutes in Game 5 last season.

And it's not like he's the first player to get a coach fired/resigned.

With Melo's defense, they would have been down 20 with 5 minutes left.

He's so one dimensional. He's Dominique.

Maybe some, I don't think a lot. I've said since 07-08 they should hire Thibs.

I wanted Doug Collins that year and FF attacked me for saying he was a great coach and a perfect fit for the Bulls.

I remember there being some hand wringing, but not a lot of it. I think people were mostly baffled by how the Bulls botched that interview process.

Magic should trade Howard & Van Gundy for Melo.

If you remember it's because I wanted Thibodeau, and you said he was a career assistant and Collins was the better choice. I don't think I was completely wrong.
