Uniforms make life easier, I think. They are cheaper, they make everybody almost the same, and there is no discussion about what to wear. My daughter is one of those kids that gets laughed at by other moms and old ladies in the grocery store. It'd be awesome not to do that somedays.

A. You're lucky. Try having boys who grow 3-4" in a year....or play ball and shred every damn uniform they can.

B. Uniforms are cheap. Until your kids realize they want AF/Polo/Izod/etc. gear that conforms to the uniform standard...and the same brand clothes for after school.

C. They don't make everybody the same (see above :( )

D. There is always discussion....it just turns to shoes, eyewear, watches, backpacks

E. Punch all of the old ladies directly in their rudely laughing mouths...wait...nevermind.

Hot bosco. Picturing light stone washed jeans, a black sweatshirt, a gold chain, heavy draakar or eternity, and spiky gelled hair. :P

How does the 11yo earn his money NSJ?

Man, it's the same bullshit they tried to pull in my day. If it ain't that piece of paper, there's some other choice they're gonna try and make for you. I'm such a dumbass. I never thought of it like that because I was that... It helps though I'd imagine. You are only on the hook for 3 pricey shirts you can find at marshalls or tjmaxx.

The old ladies aren't rude. They usually say I had one just like her. No shit, my daughter wore a striped shirt, a leopard vest, hot pink shorts, snow boots, with a glitter bag out and oversized sunglasses this week. It was a real head turner. Everybody asked if she dressed herself and told her she looked lovely.

Marshall's helps, so does biting one's tongue when the oldest finds an online deal for Ralph Lauren wear.  One son found the knock off Jordans....where are the knock off DRoses?

As for the little one: SpauldingGaGa?!?

Wow man, yeah, I'm really really sorry. You totally come off as well adjusted and you never had to kiss any ass.

But 250k a year is rich... I never knew exactly what that mark was. Thanks man.

When you have kids, or if you have them now, do you tell them that there is no reason to do homework or try?

I think that mark was established by the Obama administration, wasn't it, Darkside?

I was just looking at some old pictures of me from my yout. I must have been easy to outfit back in those days...then I got told that I still don't dress well when I dress casually. My ass kissing ego was damaged.

This thread was pretty impressive.

Although I am disturbed to see who else went to Mt. Carmel.

Education is overrated. School is for dummies. It's all about going fast.

If you're smart about it, you can fuck off in school almost as much as you want. Don't go to school drunk/high, don't curse at your teachers, do the bare minimum of homework/studying, and you will have a C maybe even a B average. I got A's and B's and still managed to fuck around a ton in high school.

You won't get the satisfaction from sticking it to those teachers who want to help you live a more enriched life by refusing to cooperate and doing really bad though!

That is what always amused about the "screw school, they can't tell me what to do" crowd. As soon as they "graduated" the same people they were sticking it to just moved on and really didn't care.

Not until the second half of high school. I started out doing everything "right". I'd say it was some time in the fall of '79 that my disillusionment kicked in.

And the guys that stayed in line? Have they achieved greatness? I can think of no fate worse than retiring or dying as a middle manager.

As a young kid I could do my work and still be the class clown. Multitasking was a skill Young Hova mastered at a young age.

Well, one would assume that college was more fun that high school. Also, it's not like the kids who didn't work hard in high school don't have to work too. I'd rather be a middle manager than answering to a middle manager.

Point taken. I just don't think true leadership comes from the guy that stays in line. Anyone can do what he's told. I don't see the makings of greatness there. It's like hiring people who have never tried drugs. I question their human curiosity. I'm sure your intense addiction to caffeine is one of the qualities that makes you a fast track employee.
