People bash soccer because of low scores but then jizz in their pants about a 1-0 pitchers duel in baseball. I enjoy both but you cant say that baseball isnt boring. If soccer was popular here and baseball was the niche sport people would make fun of baseball so much more. You can throw football in that mix as well, for all the excitement of the actual plays there is much more downtime of constant replays and commercials.

Americans hate soccer because it isn't 'our' sport.

Americans hate soccer because it sucks and there are tons of stupid rules. (the clock counting up and the refs blowing the game dead at some arbitrary point, for example)

I don't pretend to speak for all Americans but I hate Soccer for the same reason I hate Nascar....I find them unbelievable boring and painful to watch. A 1-0 pitchers duel is usually a very entertaining game. Different strokes for different folks yadda yadda but at the end of the day its an empircally measured fact that soccer is the most boring activity in the history of the universe

The refs dont do it on a whim, the clock continually runs and they make up the time that the players were idle at the end. Usually the announcers will let you know how much to expect in extra time.

Is that any more idiotic than allowing a batter to run out of the batter's box to adjust his crotch and having the ump call time to stop the pitcher? Or to call time to let the batter dust off his jersey after sliding into second?

That's one of the major reasons why I'm not a big football fan. Spmack and Ajent think I'm crazy but I think for the most part, American football is boring as hell because of all the inactivity.

I also don't like the BIG coverage of football broadcasts with all the bells, whistles, sounds, and special effects. Just broadcast the damn game. Fox Sports started that shit. I miss the old NFC on CBS from the 80s and early 90s. Nice, simple, serene...

If I could kill people with a thought, the people all responsible for the FOX NFL robot would be on top of the list.

A thousand times yes to this. I hate the Foxification of broadcasts and football is definately the worst. I dont need to wait for the anthem then another song by Rascal Flats then God Bless America then a flyover then dancing robots then Joe Buck telling me this is the biggest game of the year in week 2. The problem is I dont envision a scenario where it goes back to the way it was barring a nuclear anhilation of society and us starting over. Only going to get worse as attention spans dissapear completely.

I believe FOX were the first ones to put the score and clock on the top of the screen all game. That much I like.

Week Three of the 2012 NFL Season brings us to Soldier Field in Chicago. Rivalries don't get any bigger than this, its the Bears and Packers from the Lakefront, and with the Packers off to a 1-2 start, you might say that this is a must win game for them.....

Yes, the score overlay is one of the few things I won't complain about if they're responsible.

In fact, I'm so used to it that when I YouTube old NBA games it looks very strange that the director only flashed the score after a basket was made. And if there's a long scoring drought, you're just sitting there wondering what's going on.

If Fox is the ones that came up with the yellow line for first downs that gets a kudos in my book. That was an improvement.

Yeah, the first down and line of scrimmage markers are nice. FOX also tried their bells and whistles with hockey (not that anybody watches that either) with the glowing puck. That did not go so well.

I remember that. I believe they said it wound up being too expensive to do.

I wish FOX would give the stats from other games at the bottom like CBS does. Makes fantasy tracking a much more laid back situation. I love when the Bears play @ AFC teams just for this reason.

I hate the never-ending scroll at the bottom of the screen. They should just show the scores every once in awhile and be done with it. Can't you check your fantasy stats after the game on the computer?

This brings me to another type of person. Fantasy Sports guy who brings his laptop to the bar. WTF are you doing? Your waitress should "accidently" spill a beer on your computer.

I like it because I dont always read it, just when something catches my eye. I dont like to check stats on my laptop while watching the game.

That is annoying. The absolute worse is if you go to like BW3's and there are 12 TV's with games on all around and there is one weird little group playing video poker on the other screen....or fucking trivia.....like really you cant sit at home and play cards or trivial pursuit and not use up one of the TV's at a bar on a football sunday you incosiderate fanny pack wearing asshats
