My PS3 died over the weekend. Had it for roughly 3 years, never a single issue with it. Watching a movie the system just shut off. Can't get any power to it anymore. Tried all sorts of techniques to reset it as well as different outlets.

I'm considering making the switch to the XBox with my new purchase or at least considering it. I don't really care about any of my old games, so that really isn't a factor.

I really like how PS3 has free online gaming. Is the XBox really that much better where it is worth paying for? Is there anything that's mostly accepted that's better about the XBox than PS3

I'm 95% getting another PS3. Just curious if there was a very compelling reason why XBox is better.

I've owned both for roughly the same amount of time. My Xbox died, so then I went out and bought a PS3. I think I like the PS3 better. The free online gaming is a definite plus.

Finally got some free time and started Uncharted 3. Within an hour it's in my top 5 games ever. Even the GF watching thought it looked fun which hasn't happened with anything other than Wii Mario Kart. Beyond addicted to it.

So turns out I got a defective/glitched copy of Uncharted 3. Mid Chapter 15 a gate that should be open, isn't. Watched literally 15 videos online and in every single one of them the GD is open. Posted on a few boards and no one has heard of this happening. Contacted Sony, they are looking into it, but I'm sure It's going to be months before I can get a new copy

You should pick the one your friends have... sooner or later you're gonna find a game you'll enjoy playing online with your buddies. And when you do, you don't want to be stuck with the console that your friends don't have. For me it was the 360. It didn't have much to do with Xbox Live or the exclusives.

Restarted the system 3 or 4 times. Restarted from the start of chapter 15 a few times. Even went to the start of Chapter 14 and played through. GD hatch is closed every single time.
