I read the wiki entry for this book, and have read three reviews about the book, and what should come as no surprise to anybody, is Chas doesn't know what he is saying.

The main premise of the book deals with gay men being very careless, by having unprotected sex with many other men, and how this epidemic was largely ignored by the federal gov't. Not once, did I see the term "bisexual" included. If I have this incorrect, please show me the light, or I will just believe that you are speaking out of your backside.

Chas, you are free to continue creating this illusion that you have a laissez-faire attitude towards your fellow man, but you are as transparent as a windshield. If the board had a vote for most intolerant individual, you would be one of the favorites to win.

Christ, this thread was about a golf video game, and you turned it into another misguided diatribe against homosexuals. I have some advice for you:

1) stick to things you know, like two-bit strip clubs and rasslin'.
2) go see a psychiatrist, and get checked out
3) before you post in the future, wait five minutes and re-read each post before you click "submit", or have someone that you trust do this

I would be nice to see a Perkins logo under the Main Menu.

Initial Thoughts.

Very pretty. Graphics are great.

Gameplay is basically all the same. So far regretting the purchase and will likely be glyding is soon

Different thoughts, but same overall conclusion for me...

I don't see any difference in the graphics from the last time I played (2010)...the presentation is a little more realistic, but nothing that is blowing me away.

As for the gameplay, it's certainly not how I remember it from the last time. I don't know when they went to this new "tempo/overswing/make you completely fucking guess how far you'll actually hit the ball" routine but it's, being kind, maddening, and at it's worst, downright fucking stupid.

The caddie option is pretty much worthless, as half the time he's only offering you a shot to get on the middle of the green, and I've yet to sink a decent length putt where I followed his line.

Oh, and did I mention controlling distance is damn near fucking impossible? For an analog stick with a virtually limitless amount of outcomes, I'm pretty sure the only modes this game understands is "on, off, or halfway between" none of which are ever how hard you actually need to hit the ball.

I would buy into this if this was in some effort to go completely realistic, but then you got these fucking pins that modify you're golfers attributes for a round...think the flags you could play in the early 2000 EA Sports titles...yeah...

This may be the first time I ever consider selling/trading in a used game...I'd rather go back and play 2010 at this point. So dissapointing.

With some more gameplay, I agree with your assessment more and more. It's either impossible or I lack the basic motor skills to consistently have a good tempo shot. It's still fun to play, but just not enough of a change from previous years to give it a ton of replay value.

My copy of Skyrim arrived in the mail today so I'm pretty much done with this game. I was going to put it on Glyde, but I'd be more than willing to sell it to a board member if they'd like. I paid retail, but would happily part with it for 25-30 bucks. PS3 Version. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Rotating between 07, 08 and 10 now...probably stick with 07 for a while, if only for the far superior course selection.

Edit: 08 might have the better roster overall, but I seem to remember Spyglass becoming DLC for that game.

Lipid, how does '13 do with the KINECT? The demo didn't seem to function well at all with the controls.

I haven't even tried it...maybe that would be the saving grace for me...I'll give it a go later today if I think of it.

While I still can't recommend anyone make the upgrade to this version if they have a previous version, I've stuck with it and am starting to enjoy it a bit more...the control is still maddening, but I'm having a bit of fun.

Also, managed to unlock unlimited play on Spyglass Hill...while it seems like a cheap way to get people to grind out to earn the coins needed to purchase rounds on these courses, it's a nice alternative to shelling out 5 bucks for a course I've already paid for no less than three times.

I like the "off the course" mode. It's a lot harder to pick up a waitress in Perkins than I thought.
