Why don't they televise this? It would be cool to see the game from Japan and it is a hell of alot better than the douchebag mikes or nba highlights.

Yeah, you know the MLB owners and the marketing flacks they hired saw the success of leagues like the NFL, the NBA, and even NASCAR. They decided that the best idea was to emulate those leagues. They fly back to America and have 5 more pre-season games in between their regular season games. :lol:
And then they play each other again to resume the regular season.

What is the rationale of opening the season in Tokyo?

To grow the game? Baseball is already big in Japan.

To showcase major leaguers? I am sure the Japanese can follow MLB.
