The other day, I heard Zach talking about the Bulls...He says it should be a good series, but that the Pistons have the advantage at all 5 postions.

What ?

Needless to say, I turned off the show because the host of the show doesn't know what he's talking about.

1) I'll take Ben Wallace over Chris Webber anyday of the week.

2) Tayshaun Prince is a good player, but I think Deng is a better player.

3) Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton may be better than Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon, but both of them are pretty close.

The only big disparity is at PF where Rasheed Wallace has the advatange over PJ Brown.

Overall, I'd say 3-2 Detroit AND....Zach's an idiot.

Pretty close? What Bulls and Pistons games were you watching this year. Gordon and Hinrich (at this point in time...ask again in a couple years) aren't anywhere near as good as Rip and Billups.

Definitely pretty close. I'm giving the edge currently to the Detroit guards, and the numbers, plus experience, tell me that Detroits guards are better, but not a landslide.

Rip Hamilton: 19.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.8 APG, 0.2 BPG, 0.8 SPG, 2.1 TPG
Chauncey Billups: 17.0 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 7.2 APG, 0.2 BPG, 1.2 SPG, 2.0 TPG

Kirk Hinrich: 16.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 6.3 APG, 0.2 BPG, 1.3 SPG, 2.4 TPG
Ben Gordon: 21.4 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 2.9 APG, 0.1 BPG, 0.8 SPG, 3.0 TPG

Against Detroit:
Gordon:
Jan 6: 23 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast
Feb 25: 21 pts, 2 reb, 0 ast
March 29: 25 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast
April 4: 2 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast (12 min - 4 PF)

Hinrich:
Jan 6: 6 pts, 5 reb, 7 ast
Feb 25: 6 pts, 3 reb, 8 ast
March 29: 15 pts, 1 reb, 8 ast
April 4: 29 pts, 3 reb, 8 ast

Against Chicago:
Billups:
Jan 6: DNP
Feb 25: 15 pts, 1 reb, 9 ast
March 29: 12 pts, 4 reb, 7 ast
April 4: 17, 1 reb, 2 ast

Hamilton:
Jan 6: 27 pts, 4 reb, 6 ast
Feb 25: 22 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast
March 29: DNP
April 4: 3 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast

the one factor that those stats don't compare is defense.

Billups and Hamilton are far and away better defenders than Hinrich and Gordon.

Hinrich is slightly above average, but he commits too many stupid fouls early in games. Don't get me started about Gordon, he is a human sieve. He will get posted up this entire series.

Deng is so-so, but he is a horrible dribbler. Watch how many times he puts the ball on the floor and gets it slapped away by Prince.
