Just got home from Best Buy. Wife was looking to purchase a ipad 3 and the "associate" took the longest route possible in telling her that the 32 gig model she wanted wasn't in. Store looked like the shelves hadn't been straightened in about a week. I would love if another electronics store would come to town and close this place up. Circuit City was here but that's been about it. Have never been a Best Buy guy from the beginning.

My favorite store,Tower Records on Golf Road in Schaumburg is still sorely missed. They had a great selection of DVD's,media,CD's,etc. It was a great place to kill some time on a Saturday afternoon.

Oh my god, I loved Tower Records, too. I went to the one on Wabash betwixt Jackson & Adams. Now it's a barber college. ($9 haircuts for anyone interested).

Who's the current CEO?

I could Google it, but he was a focus of the CNBC special. Although I love promoting from within, he struck me as a guy that's going to lead the company he's worked for his entire life into obscurity (Blockbuster).

Highland, Fretter, Silo...any love for Polk Brothers? Bought my second boom box there. First actually came from Marshall Field's electronics department.

While me and Spanky lived in Rockford, I was a fan of Media Play. In fact, their wikipedia page uses the Rockford location as a picture.
