I was not a fan, and even questioned regularly why Spiegel was here when Mac returned. After that, Spiegel was the only person from the Score that completely ignored my existence when I was in the studio. However, he's arrived in his spot, and hopefully won't stop improving. I think a majority of criticism comes from the first year of the show. Vacation is vacation. But that argument has already run its course.

Spiegel has carried the show for the last year and a half.

He has carried a lousy show. Meatpants is a small timer who has no business on major market radio.

Huzzah and congratulations, hoping those are somehow appropriate plaudits.

When Mac comes back it will always sound like he has sand in his mangina.

Eaglo with a huge save of that post with that final pic!

Well done!

I think Meat is just fine and has improved steadily since the beginning of the show. The first year was not so hot but since then it's been fine, if anything the show has been keeping its head above water quality wise because of Meat.

He has his foibles.....he can be a prissy queen at times, he has been infected w/ the BernSTINE Complex and such but he's fine.

I guess I don't get why he has "no business in a major market".

Meat would be a god awful small market guy. His national knowledge of sports is one of his major assets. The more you narrow him to a certain area, sport or fanbase the worse he gets. I think he is too national for the score. He would be better on ESPN or back doing the sporting news radio.

Every show should have at least one guy who knows who John Wall is.

Lol, Meat rearranged his vacation to be there on Monday, then take the rest of the week off. Shit, he and Fingy owe their jobs to Mac. Without Mac they both would be delivering pizza and bad music.

Well you can't be sure that Meat new ahead of time when Mac was planning his glorious return.

Good on Meat for making time to be there and getting the fuck out to leave Mac all alone with Larry the Loser!

Remember, if Mac was sick, and his absence WAS NOT due to being gay.

That doesnt mean he's NOT gay. Just that this issue was not about that.

Mac would be a good spokesman for the gays. If he's not, its too bad for the gays. They could use him.

that would explain the type of "meat" those Allen Bros. delivered to him, and so often!

Mcneil when you get back---
*You will work 48 weeks a year, as work is only speaking into a microphone 4 grueling hours a day.
*No more of these Prima Dona games, your 50 and to old. When do you ever get tired of being an attention whore?
*Start to be the DRIVER of the show that states your name first. Spiegel may not need to go, but take control of him for Christ sake.
*For the love of God cherish what you have. These listeners fawn all over you, you can do no wrong. You have an easy, but to them an important part-time job. Just be there and be you.

xstyle, I won't dispute that gratitude (along with perspective) has been elusive for me for some time. Point taken. As for the rest of your content... I will make no apologies for negotiating a deal that affords me more time off than the "average" American worker. As you said, I'm 50 years old. On the back nine of life, I'm going to enjoy as much time away from work as I can. And while what I do is a hell of a lot easier than shoveling coal in a blast furnace in a steel mill, I suggest you grab a pair of headsets and give it a whirl. Then tell me how your "four hour work day" is going for you.

Mac, I can do it for 4 hours BUT doing it for 4 hours,5 days a week for 15-20 years is another story. I always said on here "it's not easy". It must drive you nuts to have jerkoffs (like me and just about everybody else on here) disecting one sentence you said at 11:15am and crucifying you (or someone else) for it. I try to look for a pattern of behavior before I rip someone,BUT I have been guilty of disecting some "talkers" sentences myself. Good Luck 2 U!!

Really? 50 is the back nine.

Holy shit Batman!

I'm 57, am I putting my clubs in my car and headed to the 19th hole?

I understand Mac wanting and getting a good amount of vacation time. It's the guy on the front nine who takes a greater amount of time off that strikes me as odd.

Of course 50 is the back nine. Rarely do people live past 90. Don't be afraid to stare Death in the face. Just tell him, "Get out of my way, I need to sink this putt."

MeatPants is 40 years old, it isn't like he is fresh out of the Illinois Center for Broadcasting or whatever.

Dudes got some miles on him, only 10 years shy of Mac, let us be real now.

Saying that radio hosts only work during the hours they're on the air is like saying teachers only work during the hours they're teaching a class.
