Since they keep saying the Main Event will be announced on Raw, was there anything tonight that gave you an idea.

HBK and HHH didn't do anything to make them face each other, could be Lesnar-Taker or would they do another Rock-Cena again.

Sure no one is interested but my WM thoughts:
I thought this PPV sucked and it was one of the worst Wrestlemanias I’ve ever watched. I barely even want to say there was a match of the night, but I guess it would have been one of the 2 last matches. The champ Daniel Bryan got absolutely buried and dropping a title that way isn’t good for anyone involved. The heavyweight title lost some prestige as well after that disaster.
Undertaker dressed as Super Shredder tonight.
I guess I didn’t see the same match as the rest of you. I thought Taker-H was uninspired and was just a bunch of chairshots to the back of the two. The Cell was pointless as it was barely used. Overacting was on full display. Not good at all. Expected way more from all involved. Badly written too.
Virtually no big spots in the ppv. No “Oh Shit” moments. I can’t believe how lazy this pay per view was. I don’t think I’ll ever buy again. Wrestlemania felt like any other ppv or Raw for that matter. Don’t use mania to set up Raw matches or storylines. Use Raw to set up Mania. Nothing was memorable tonight except for Mark Henry throwing a midget.
WWE had to bring back Jericho, Rock, HBK, HHH out of his low work schedule and Taker wrestle once a year now. They are relying on old guys to sell. They are turning into WCW.

My thoughts.

2 very good matches (Punk/Jericho and HHH/Taker)
3 average matches (Cena/Rock, Big Show/Cody, and the Tag Team thing)
2 bad matches (Kane/Orkman and the Divas)
1 abortion (World Title match)

Grade: C

I would agree with that. Not even close to the worst mania, and not even close to the best. Just average.

Quick question: WM 29 is going to be at MetLife Stadium in NY/NJ on April 7th. How is that going to work? No roof on the place, the temperature and weather could be a major issue. It is conceivable you could still get snow on Apr 7th there.

Totally agree with WR with the fact that I have no idea what match of the night was, spot of the night, no "holy shit" moment.

Seems like it needed Hillbilly Muta (jeff hardy) flying off ladders or something. kill the mitb ppv and bring the match back to mania.

That'd be interesting to see how it plays out. What if there's like torrential rain? Crazy winds?

You'd think there's a contingency plan.

You are just mad that Swagger is below Hornswaggle in importance right now. :P

I can't really disagree with the positives or negatives on this page. Nothing else to offer right now. My only offering is that I'm trying to hire Scott Norton as a project manager. #noresponse

You would think the first back up plan would be MSG, but the problem would be seating capacity. You sell all those tickets for MetLife and there is no way you are getting all those people in MSG and I do not believe there is a dome anywhere in the NY area.

I can't speak for BL, but I would say yes. I'm just happy it wasn't 52 degrees when I left Mania, and 74 degrees when I got home, expecting tornadoes to destroy my home.

You know what really grinds my gears? He is below Hornswoggle, 2 GM's, Cole, woo woo guy, etc. Wasted talent and potential...and they wonder why they need taker, trips, rock, brock, etc. No one got "made" this year, not even close.

My theory on Swagger is
1) He's a Jim Ross guy. not good
2) The wife. Was a maxim hometown hottie, was in FCW, left there and figured a sex tape would look good on the resume. calls CA makes sex tape at some point. Swagger wins MITB at Mania, wins world title, gets married that night or next, sex tape comes out. Swagger worked hard on the lisp (so did Cody) the last year, no wellness issues, etc and guy cant get a break (or a decent haircut) because of whore wife ( like Morrison or Drew). It's the skank that's holding him back. They could have had a Kurt Angle type (but 6 or 7 inches taller) if developed properly.

Actually, that was awesome. Sadly I have heard it before. First line of the night might have been the best. Had me cracking up with "The Oracle" too.

Tell me what he's done to be in the HOF. Outside of the early retirement, which is a shame. With a gestation of less than a year... Makes me think its a part of a settlement. (Sort of like the Von Erichs, as a part of the WCCW rights purchase.)

Tell you what: Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, Edge. Who's more (and less) worthy, and why? And if you sit there are yell out "none of them are worthy," you'd be right. But they all had good careers.

[Edit: Shit, I'd rather put in Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Dick Murdock, the Funk brothers instead of that list.]

I think that is a fair assesment but I would put the grade at C+ and had they not robbed us of a World Title match it would have been a solid B.

I thought Trips/Taker was a really good match and story. Sure there was typical HBK over acting but the story was solid and yea they didn't climb the top of the structure but they didn't need to. A little overbooked with Lil Naitch running in for a ref bump but didn't hurt the overall match. I thought they wrapped it up nicely and I am happy with how it ended. Not often you can say that :P

Punk/Jericho was a solid match and was really well done and. I enjoyed the actual wrestling and story of the match itself in this one. Surprised Punk went over as I think a loss here would have setup a grudge/gimmick match at AllState in 4 weeks.

Rock/Cena was OK storywise I think, but technically - yikes! Cena and Rock both need to learn how to apply submission moves and make them at least somewhat believable. That sharpshooter Rock put must have made Bert Hart rip off his pink sunglasses and apply it properly to his broom. And Cena has the absolute worst looking STF - its turrible. When Rock is "passing out" from the pain Cena barely had his hands/arms anywhere near a spot on his neck that would cut off bloodflow and make him lose consciousness. That whole segment was goofy. But not as goofy as the waist lock at the beginning of the match on the mat where Cena was just hugging Rock. That was just bizarre. I realize Rock was blown up but can you try to not give the "wrestling is ghey" haters free ammo? Having Rock win in Miami sent the crowd home happy but not the PPV audience. The finish was interesting as Cena did a heelish mock before getting his comeuppance. I hope they don't extend this 2 more matches though.

Tag team gimmick - don't care
Divas - don't care

Big Show/Cody - I still think a win here for Cody is huge. No one wants to see Big Show wrestle - seriously. He is out of shape and boring. Cody isn't quite ready for Main Event feuds and another 2 or 3 months with IC strap would have helped him I think. He is really finding a groove with this character. Now they will probably hot shot the title back to him on SmackDown this week and his loss on Mania will be even more pointless.

Kane winning makes zero sense. The match taking place at all made zero sense. But Orton is one of your guys who will be around a few more years, Kane needs to retire or be used to put young guys over. I can't think of any other wrestler that is so protected by Vince. He never loses cleanly - ever. Odd.

I enjoyed this years Mania - it wasn't the best ever and some parts let me down (like the entire first hour) but overall I enjoyed it. Twitter and texting with you goofs probably helped though

Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer returns with our post-WrestleMania edition of the show! Tons to discuss with some awesome ambient music in the background including the full card for the biggest show of the year and likely all time, Rock vs. Cena, the finish, the Daniel Bryan match, Hunter vs. Undertaker, the live crowd vs. TV, tons of notes from the show and backstage, plus more on ROH and DGUSA from the weekend.

Seriously, you do not think Edge has done anything to be worthy of the HOF? You are crazy if you really believe that. Edge was one of the top 3 guys in the company for a long period of time. He was a five tool guy that could do it all. He was one of the very few guys that you could put anyone in the ring with and he would have a good/great match. He held every title that ever existed in the E. He was part of a tag team that revolutionized the entire tag team division.

Ok so you got the ring covered, but that does not eliminate the weather problem. Wind, rain, snow, sleet could all be an issue even if the ring is covered. Having the ring covered in Las Vegas or Miami and having it covered in NY/NJ in April are completely different things.
