Everyone makes mistakes, but Kerry's are really adding up in a hurry.

When I hear my update peeps, I don't want to notice them that much....if that makes any sense.

It's tougher to do than one might think; I tried and really sucked at it. Pacing, inflection, timing and not having a frog in your throat are all traits one must have to be a Randazzler update person type. I've not heard Wayne make a single mistake...so far. When I first heard Wayne, I thought he was Chris Rongey.

I don't wanna turn this into a rip LoHo thread...I do listen to and enjoy HIS shows.
I just don't like him partner(ed) [Tommy Williams *sky point] when it's not his show, but he's on that show.

I would imagine it's not all that easy to do. Some guys are really smooth at it. Connor is pretty damn solid....but, he just had the Pie Rush Wednesday thing too...which just turned into a thing.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that. They've given copy to hosts written in handwritten scrawl, with spelling & grammatical errors. Macky Fish used to yell at his producers about such.

Now, is Kerry writing her own copy, and its incoherent? Maybe she needs to put it on a teleprompter...

It regularly sounds like the product of a cold read.
It's not as bad as Jiggs' legendary "Tell em your name sent you", but -- for some reason -- Kerry is constantly making mistakes in her updates.
It's quite the head-scratcher -- I don't remember her doing this when she was at Comcast.
She's been like this from the onset, but I can understand why some might only be pointing this out now.
Even the Great Randazzler has his update mistakes turned into drops. Don't think I've ever heard a Sayers flub as a drop. Nobody appears to make light of it -- on air!
Honestly, I don't think she really cares to be doing this. It's kind of a step back for her. I wouldn't be surprised if she's putting much more emphasis on her other sports gigs.
With that said, she seems like a very nice person. I've never heard a negative thing personally about her.
She won't be doing this too much longer -- with the upcoming birth -- and maybe she'll just be a stay-at-home mom after that.

Well that would suck, and explain a lot, if they have to do cold reads off copy someone else wrote. I assumed (and I know what happens when you assume...) that part of whatever it is update people do between updates was writing their own copy for the updates.

I've only seen her on TV a few times and she sounded far better than she does on 'SCR. So maybe that is part of the problem.

I certainly don't expect any of them to be perfect but I do expect them to sound like professionals who actually went to broadcasting school. The update guys on AM1000 seem to do a better job.

"Mully & Hanley" with Seacrest, I mean the Daily Herald's Barry Rozner, sitting in for Mully yesterday was the show where MLB Network's Harold Reynolds talked a little baseball. H.R.'s on "The Dan Patrick Show" tomorrow.

Kerry did her job a whole lot better today. The Esquire thing was especially a plus.

I heard zero flub ups or pacing issues today. Nice work, Kerry! Credit where credit is due. Way to step it up!

Jeff, I've had the chance to listen a lot lately, and you were right with your original comment. Kerry Sayers is brutal. She loses her place all the time. She stammers too much. And worst of all, she just stinks at reading copy.

Other than that, she's great.

Easy on the eyes in person, BRUTAL on the radio though. I'm really not sure I have ever heard her not stumble reading updates. She is the worst.
