Terry is away the next couple of days, and guess who sits in with Dan B. this afternoon on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com? According to the SCORE's page at CBSChicago.com, it's the one & only Jason Goff sitting in this afternoon from 1:15p-ish to 6p. Needless to say, it'll be interesting sports radio hearing this two.

With Goff sitting in, a big dose of Bulls talk is on tap. Derrick Martell Rose is a "gametime decision" as he's nearly ready to return from a groin injury, although I doubt he faces the Celtics this eve on the Bulls' favorite national cable channel TNT at the unusual time of 8:30p. With C.J. Watson possibly out as well with an ankle injury, journeyman Mike James is back for the rest of the season.

If that's not enough, might there also be talk about the Thunder/Heat grudge match in what could be an NBA Finals preview from last night? What about the Cardinals/Marlins' christening of the new Marlins Park, Kyle Lohse no-hitting Miami for 6 innings & Muhammad Ali's awful condition as he came out to present the game ball beforehand?

With Cubs/Nationals starting up at Wrigley as well, The SCORE's David "Double Duty" Schuster will have frequent updates, and Cubs' TV PBP voice Len Kasper is supposed to join the guys after they wrap up. Might that mean Gary from Evanston's favorite segment, "Who Ya Crappin'?", gets bumped completely come 5p this afternoon?
We'll find out soon enough.

I forgot to mention in my rundown, there's also growing chaos between the Magic's Dwight Howard & head coach Stan Van Gundy before tonight's NBA/TNT game vs. the Knicks in Orlando. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant continues to build his case for NBA MVP, this time vs. the Clippers at STAPLES Center. Also, there's a certain "tradition unlike any other", Day 1 of the Masters down in Augusta, GA. If that's not enough, might Bernsy's buddy Jerry Sandusky merit talk today as well? A lot of ground to cover.

Also, The SCORE's Matt Abbatacola, as well as David Schuster, provide live updates from Nationals/Cubs this afternoon...The game plan is coming up.

Good thing they have TWO guys at Cubs opening day! After stating how pointless this season is I certainly am fired up to hear dueling updates from Wrigley!

Has something changed that Goff can now co-host fill-in the show he works on? Doesn't seem like that used to happen a lot, right?

Well, Drew Hayes is now programming 890 WLS-AM for starters. Also, Seacrest, I mean the Daily Herald's Barry Rozner, is at Clark & Addison, too.

Here's the Thursday game plan with Bernsy & Goff:

*3:30p: "The Second Half"
*After WSH/CHC: Cubs' TV PBP Len Kasper
*5p: "WYC"

"Scoreboard Updates": Matt Rodewald
Producers: Herb Lawrence & Brett Lyons

The season preview of "White Sox Baseball Live: Presented by Miller Lite" with Chris Rongey follows at 6p and then Matt Abbatacola has 4 hours of live, local sports talk at 8p leading into "SCORE Overnight" at Midnight with Les Grobstein & Adam Harris.

“KILL THE HEAD AND THE BODY WILL DIE” This line appears in my notebook, for some reason. Perhaps some connection with Joe Frazier. Is he still alive? Still able to talk? I watched that fight in Seattle – horribly twisted about four seats down the aisle from the Governor. A very painful experience in every way, a proper end to the sixties. Tim Leary a prisoner of Eldridge Cleaver in Algeria, Bob Dylan clipping coupons in Greenwich Village, both Kennedys murdered by mutants, Owsley folding napkins on Terminal Island, and finally Cassius/Ali belted incredibly off his pedestal by a human hamburger, a man on the verge of death. Joe Frazier, like Nixon, had finally prevailed for reasons that people like me refused to understand – at least not out loud. But that was some other era, burned out and long gone from the brutish realities of this foul year of Our Lord, 1971. A lot of things had changed in those years."

Or was it "kill the body and the head will die".

Disagree

I dont mean just his impressions. I mean his voices imitating callers, entire groups of people, etc

Yeah, his impressions of callers and such can be pretty funny.

His imitations of singular people sucks besides a few voices.

That last one before the break and before the smooth-sounding John Tautges providing the Dial Global Radio Network's hourly update on the Masters...A prime example of what they've had for over a decade.

Len Kasper, who called today's 2-1 Cubs' loss to the Nationals this eve, is scheduled to join Bernsy & Goff as soon as his WGN Sports duties wrap on the TV side. That'll be after the next break.

Dan's gotta be tired of being such a bag to callers, right? How many years can you do that and get excited about it? Seriously? I know a lot of the guys here LOVE his schtick, but man I tire of it quickly. We get it, the caller is a moronic idiot. Why take his call? Maybe Dan is reinvigorated by his understudies Goff and drinky really taking their smug attitude to near-Bernstein levels?

I know, I know, don't listen. I haven't been, much at all, lately. I like the show, overall, so I want to listen -- but I can only hear Dan scream in his "hilarious" Chicago meatball accent so much.

On another note, and although I've been listening off and on today, it's nice not hearing Dan get stuck in a rut talking about the latest Sandusky happenings. When I saw a clip of him heading into court today I assumed that not even a Cubs home opener would keep him from rehashing his OUTRAGE.

I have almost completely stopped listening to Boers and Bernstine. Just isn't fun. In fact I am way down on all of my sports radio consumption although a big part of that comes from me not driving much anymore.

Sam Rosen and Vin Scully are the goods.

To put those two in the same sentence is a disgrace.

His Vin Scully sounds like Vin Scully.

His "Sam Rosen" just sounds like he's doing an old Jewish guy...

Oh, and the Bernstine/Goff pairing is gold.

That's the point, that Sam Rosen is every old Jewish guy he's encountered at a wedding buffet.

So it's not actually a Sam Rosen impression then...thanks.

No, a real Sam Rosen impression would include that goofy-ass "IT'S a power play GOAL!" call. Sam Rosen reduced to absurdity is just frustrated that he can't find the right brand of prepared horseradish.

Yes, we are, but I still enjoy the impression. Look how many stupid people think Will Ferrell's Harry Caray is good. Allow me this one.
