Didn't they remove that video circa 1993 down there? I know there's a mention of it in the paper and I saw video of it again & again.
They had it removed for this season because Robin was back in the game and they "had more things to show".

Well, this is a franchise that blew two straight World Series appearances, was virtually irrelevant for most of the millennium, and for about 15 years was home to some of the most obvious steroid users in baseball history (and still couldn't win with em). What else have they got really?

That is a valid point. The Rangers were just another team for the longest time until the last 2 years...

Great moments in Rangers History:

Lose in World Series
Manager admits to doing blow regularly
Born again all star falls off the wagon
Ryan/Robin fight
Born again all star kills off duty firefighter in front of his son
Billy Martin
Bobby Valentine
The 70's
2 consecutive 100 loss seasons
Arlington Stadium death trap
George W Bush ownership

Yeah, that really kind of is a great moment in history.

IIRC, wasn't it the Rangers that Caseco was playing for when he pitched in a blowout and shredded his elbow?

I think that ranks right up there amongst the worst ballparks of all time.

That's also where Nolan Ryan noogied Robin Ventura in 1993. Arlington Stadium was also what new Comiskey Park looked like when it first opened in 1991.

In my research, I found that on average, that was the "hottest" ballpark in baseball until the Marlins started playing at Joe Robbie Stadium.

Canseco asked his manager, Kevin Kennedy, to let him pitch the eighth inning of a runaway loss to the Boston Red Sox; he injured his arm, underwent Tommy John surgery, and was lost for the remainder of the season. In his pitching appearance, Canseco allowed three earned runs on two hits and three walks, throwing 33 pitches, but only 12 for strikes.
You are correct Boyd. This was also only 3 days after that HR of his noggin

Pretty sure that he is the first real proof that steroid abuse lead to the shredding of elbows...see Strasburg, Stephen; Prior, Mark; Wood, Kerry; etc...

Yup. That stadium had no roof, thus no shade. Great idea for a hot place like Texas.

I root for the Sox when they aren't playing the Cubs. Chicago etc. But Hawk and Stone are just awful. Really a shame.

It reminded me of County Stadium with it being as wide open as it was. Even when the built The Ballpark, there was nothing to protect them from the heat...figures that W was the one that got that place built...probably had FEMA consultation for it.

Lewis is getting the inside strike called, Danks has yet to get one called. Hawk in mid-season form.
