What a fucking lame effort when it still had a bit of meaning. May as well keep Toews out for Detroit, and frankly the playoffs - not worth it to risk his career when they are going nowhere these playoffs.

I tend to agree. I don't want a Crosbyesque yearlong recovery. We're probably looking at sending Steve Montador to the Marc Savard Memorial Lifetime Injured Reserve.

So a regulation/overtime win against Detroit ties them in points, ties them in ROWs, and with the edge in the season series they'd finish fifth. Any other outcome and they get whoever trudges to the top of the Pacific.

Toews not playing tomorrow in Detroit. I've been of the opinion that he absolutely needed a game or two before throwing him back in the playoffs. I'm convinced he's not as healthy as they are making it seem lately and rushing him back for the playoffs is a risk that just isn't worth it.

That's 23 games and counting for Jonathan Toews that he'll be sidelined for the Blackhawks. I'm not sure #19 will be back come playoff time next week, regardless of the matchup.

He's not coming back this year. I hope someone punches Joe Thornton in the back of the head.

Kane does the same thing doesn't he?

fucking douchebag, go find another team to cheer for.

It must kill you to see highlights of the Stanley Cup winning goal.

That's what you get for sitting in the 300 level. I, myself, refuse to venture into the land of the peasants. Rather just watch a game on tv then sit up there. In fact, I did that last year when I played at the UC in a charity game before a hawks game. They gave us tickets to the game in the 300 level. Walked up to my seat, took one look, turned around and went home and watched the game comfortably from my couch.

That was horrible.

What does one have to do with the other???

Sharp has always been terrible on shootouts. He can't hide his stone hands when he's all alone on the ice with the keeper. When he is on a shootout the only question I ask myself is which is going to happen, he either loses the puck stickhandling and doesn't even get a shot off, or he fires one high and wide over the net. 9/10 times its one or the other.

But the 6 seed is what you want. This team is good enough to do damage as long as Toews is on board. The 6 seed is a good thing. The Hawks should beat whoever the number 3 seed is, because quite frankly, they're better at hockey than them. Don't worry, we're all good.

I also wanted the 6 seed, but you're fooling yourself if you honestly have that much confidence going into that series. We're 1-3 vs LA and have been shutout twice. We're 2-2 vs San Jose. We're 1-3 vs Phoenix with the only win coming in October. Not sure where you come up with the opinion that we're better than those teams because we're clearly not.

Can we beat those teams? Of course. But, if we do it will definitely be an upset....not a major upset, but an upset nonetheless.

Because the majority of shorties are scored on a steal/one-on-one breakaway-type that is similar to the one-on-one of shootouts. Obviously, either he had a horseshoe up his ass that season, or he simply forgot that part of his game over the years.

It's been pretty good, yeah. Trying not to get my hopes up about finishing fifth. Wings don't have as many guys out as we do.

82 games, zero shutouts. 12 minutes left, absolutely have to tighten up here.

No we don't, unless you're excited about the prospect of playing the Phoenix Coyotes, in which case whatever, man.

Oh, you know. Just Crawford against a good team. Or a bad team. Or an NHL team.

Oy.

I figured a 2 goal lead would be safe.

My bad.

No, remember I said months ago that Crawford is almost always good for two goals a game. You need three to protect that idiot, and even then.

Rather than the Preds, yes please.

Shootout win, perfect result.

I still don't trust the officiating in Coyotes games. We have it on the record that a ref said "I'm not going to put them down 5 on 3" after a blatant non-call. The league is doing anything they can do save that team.

We're in the familiar position of rooting for the Minnesota Wild in Game 82.

Im thinking the Coyotes are basically the Preds minus the talent. Wouldnt mind any of the three west teams.

Coyotes beat the Hawks three times, shut them out once, and Mike Smith has given up one goal on like 170 shots over four games. Add biased officiating and unless they just run out of gas it doesn't look good.

But I'm starting to fear that this year's Hawks don't have that extra gear to kick it into. Count the games they've blown down the stretch: five of the last six games went to shootouts, St. Louis and Detroit were two-goal leads blown late, Minnesota was a one-goal lead against the worst offense in the league which may as well be two. If you can't muster up a playoff-intensity lockdown in the last six games of the season where seeding is very much up for grabs, maybe you can't at all.

I'm always up for a good conspiracy, but I think the TV viewership of a Phoenix-based conference semi-final would be enough for the NHL to not want to see Phoenix advance...

Do you think Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, and the rest can handle MIKE SMITH?

Yea that Stanley Cup winner was such a great fucking goal, what an effort and shot by your boyfriend!! a goalie in your no check beer league would've saved that fucking shot. Philadelphia had the worst goaltending of any finals team of recent memory in that series so wipe Kaners jizz off your chin ok asswipe?

LOL you really are a complete fucking douchebag.

Must suck being the only Hawks fan in existence who hated watching the Hawks win the Cup. Guy is one of only a few people in history who have an OT Cup clincher on his resume and somehow you think you can delegitimize it. Good luck with that argument fuckhead.
