I think he is not only a sports talk host, but also a spy and he had to go to India to resolve some stuff. He speaks Hindi and Urdu quite fluently, and enjoys chugundi jhola really spicy which are kind of clues that lead me to believe this... A friend of mine told me this, and I haven't heard anything to the contrary, so I believe it to be true. Anyways, about six months ago, I point blank ask him about Inder Kumar Gujral and the Fodder Scam and he pretends he doesn't know anything about it, like he's never heard of it before. But even if you weren't a spy assigned to the Indian front, you've probably read about the theft -- it was almost 190 million US equivalent. So I say, really? What about Janata Dal and Laloo Prasad Yadav? Again, he looks at me with a blank stare and says "I think you've got the
wrong man." But then the way he said the word wrong that seemed to imply that he did know about it, and that maybe Laloo was "the wrong man." Maybe it was a setup by Rabri Devi to take control? I mean, during that time frame, Janata Dal was transitioning into Rashtriya Janata Dal, so obviously it was time for some changes in a lot of respects. The Chief Minister of Bihar seemes like a logical place to try to introduce change with the relatively high population of youth and proximity to Nepal. So sensing that he didn't really want to blow his cover (there was a busboy who may have been Indian or Pakistani), I follow up with a pretty clever statement -- or so I thought. "Would you like a new be-eer?" but I said it kind of like a cross between Bihar and Beer, alluding to the potential overthrow of that position, and he said "Yes, that would be great... thanks!" And he said it with a nod, and the way he said thanks to me made me realize that he was getting what I was saying and that it just wasn't the right time or place to go into it further. So I bought him another beer and hung with him watching the Hawks until the end of the second period, then excused myself and left... I'm not a big hockey fan.
