This is ultimately my issue with the "legalize it" movement. You have a good case with good reasons. Why the need to make it seem like having 5 beers in a night turns you into a monster? That's the true irony. You hate the mischaracterization of marijuana but you are saying that 5 beers = fighting, bars = bad things happening, and 5 beers two times a week = liver failure and 300 pounds.




Well, you are taking what I said out of context. Alcohol can and often does have a positive effect on your body. Ask the AMA! They write papers and do research on this stuff.

I think if you drink 6 or 8 beers (whatever is the normal night of drinking with buddies or whatever) twice a week, you will end up with a lot more problems than someone that smokes twice a week.

I think most people would have to agree with that if they were really honest with themselves.

I don't know if there's a lot of weed supporters on this board, but I know there's a lot of athletic supporters.

I think so, and this is coming from a guy who watched a close family member die of alcoholism. A large majority of people are responsible with drinking. They aren't going out and getting in fights, having liver failure, and getting dui's.
