I don't really get what that does. It doesn't change what he said, what he feels, or who he is. They couldn't wait to get that goof down there. Now they've got him.

In theory, it supposed to teach him to keep his opinions to himself next time. Don't say anything that will embarrass/cause harm to any of your employers or their sponsors.

I guess they don't know him well enough in Miami to realize that will never work.

In other Guillen news, some dude named Cubannator is tearing Oney up on Twitter.

That guy really is a moron.

I'm sure that comment was made with a his tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Pun intended...

Oz suspended 5 games by Marlins - Coop asks permission to be Miami's interim manager.

To me the most remarkable part is Ozzie lives in Miami.

How did he not know what kind of reaction that would get?

Sounds like a Happy Valley mentality.

So, let me get this straight, Joe Cowley has taken to Twitter to defend Ozzie even thought he isn't even the manager of the White Sox anymore?

There is something wrong with this guy, seriously wrong.

Makes me wonder just how much went on that Cowley didn't report...

Cowley called Hawk a drunk in one of his spirited defenses of Ozzie's own drunkenness.

I was done with the Guillen circus after 2010. He hurt the Sox more than he helped them in 2009-11. I'll always remember him fondly for '05, '06, and '08, but I was glad to see him gone.

It's clear what Ozzie was trying to say. He obviously doesn't support people who are being oppressed and forced to live in bad conditions.

Such a joke. The Marlins twitter person is a turd as well.

Here's a comment he made about Castro in 2008.

Quote:
"Fidel Castro," he said. "He's a bull---- dictator and everybody's against him, and he still survives, has power. Still has a country behind him. Everywhere he goes they roll out the red carpet. I don't admire his philosophy. I admire him."

I would also like Garrett Morris doing the Ozzie press conference for the hearing impaired.

Right. You can admire Hitler for what he was able to accomplish in terms of unifying his country but still despise his world philosophy and politics. It's not mutually exclusive. I think that's what Ozzie was attempting to say, but obviously could have used much better words.

But how is that different from Marge Schott saying she admires Hitler's road building? It's just goddamn dumb. Maybe if he spent more time trying to understand why wasting outs isn't a great idea than he does worrying about spouting his uneducated opinions of every tinpot dictator in Latin America, he'd win more ballgames.

No. He said he loves Fidel Castro. That's different than appreciating something. I can appreciate your staying power in the face of so many trying to take you down but I certainly don't love you.
