Covering this story takes valuable time away from covering CTE and Penn State.

I think hers were worse:

I would love to know what Danny thought about the Marge Schott story back when he was in college.

I've loved mobster and gangsters movies since I can remember. When most kids my age were watching cartoons I was trying to watch Miller's Crossing and the Godfather trilogy. Something about that code and the way they carried themselves attracted me. Tomorrow I'm going to tell a community of victims how much I love the people that are responsible for the pain.

No. He said he loves Fidel Castro. That's different than appreciating something. I can appreciate your staying power in the face of so many trying to take you down but I certainly don't love you.

Yes.

I think he was just expanding on this.

Fidel Castro," he said. "He's a bull---- dictator and everybody's against him, and he still survives, has power. Still has a country behind him. Everywhere he goes they roll out the red carpet. I don't admire his philosophy. I admire him

Saying he loves THAT about Castro. He should have worded it better but I truly think thats what he meant. I think he throws Love around casually.

In fairness, she too was "uneducated"...so maybe he would've thought that to be a non-story as well

I don't think it's nuts to say someone was a great X but a terrible human being. He was obviously a tremendous speaker and leader with his ability to mobilize so many people towards his ideas.

In 1992, a former employee testified that Schott called former Reds Eric Davis and Dave Parker "million-dollar geniuses." He also said she owned a swastika arm band.

Schott responded with a press release saying that she didn't mean to offend anyone by using the word 'genius' and by owning Nazi memorabilia.

It didn't stop there. She went on to say she thought Hitler was good for Germany and that she didn't see anything wrong with the word "Jap."

Disagree. If you were a public figure and you said something that would harm your employer financially/publicly, even your fast track job would discipline you for it.

The Miami population roughly 1/3 Cuban. The brand new, tax-funded stadium is in a neighborhood known around the country as "Little Havana". I'm assuming a good chunk of sponsorship/TV money comes from companies with those ties as well.

You are having a rough couple of days on the board. Might be time to take a few days off.

Putting aside all the obvious stuff, he is taking the spotlight off of Loria's Miami Marlins/New Stadium splash.

Loria HATES that alone.

This is probably true also. But now he (Loria) gets some of the limelight/praise, so he's probably happy again.

I never said it doesn't harm his employer, I said it's stupid that it harms his employer.

You would be wise to do so. DB has some excellent ideas; a bladder system for oil tankers, ketchup and mustard in the same dispenser, beach scented cologne, a pizza joint where the customers make their own pie....

Million dollar ideas, biggie!

Many times the idea is not the key, it is how it is marketed.

Exactly! Take the oil tanker bladder, test it by dropping out of an office building window, and if it works market it!

Because people with some sense should understand that Ozzie Guillen is but one small cog of the larger entity known as the Marlins organization...and they should understand that his individual thoughts (which have been taken immensely out of context) do not reflect the thoughts of any other individuals...or the stance of the entire organization.

Why do some people always feel the need to make everything an issue?

That's all well and good, but that is not how things work.
