This is excellent news!!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/ ... 4630.story

They make great beer and this could be a gateway to other large microbreweries to do something similar here. Sierra Nevada and New Belgium are expanding to Asheville to help distribution, and I think Chicago could be a great place for others like Stone or Dogfish Head to do something similar. The more beer choices the better!!

Makes sense...they've been promoting a fair amount at the new craft friendly bars in the area recently.

8) :D :drunken:

I've never had Lagunitas. Love Stone and Dogfishead as well as Flying Dog.

Your local Binny's should have plenty of their product.

I like it but also hope that they remain creative at this new location. I never have any problem getting their stuff now so its not like they need to make twice as much of everything that is already always available.

I really don't know how I feel about some of these successful microbreweries growing this large. When I lived in San Diego alot of people didn't care for them blowing up and going all corporate. Stone always got thrown under the bus where as smaller breweries such as Alesmith, Port Brewing, Green Flash, The Bruery still distributed but also pumped out all kinds of unique new and small batches locally.

Lagunitas actually got just about zero to no respect out there. I've never disliked their stuff as its cheap and heavily hopped but it was not something sought out unless the other options were macro swill.

If anybody wants to have best Nor Cal beer, which is the area Lagunitas is from, try Russian River. Its hard as hell to get outside of Cali but it may very well be the best Brewery in the country.

My hands down favorite. Think I'll enjoy some while perusing the Extra Innings package this evening.

DiCarlo's near me had the IPA, a Pilsner, and a few others from Lagunitas. No WTF or "Sumpin' Sumpin"

Picked up Three Floyd's Pride and Joy and some Big Sky Trout Slayer and a bottle of Pepe Nero by Goose Island.
