I'm eagerly anticipating Dan's dramatic reading of Charles P. Pierce's latest spoonful of self-important goo.

Also, WYC.

Do it up.

The guys will be busy today. As soon as the Brewers/Cubs' game wraps up at Wrigley, TV voice Len Kasper, calling today's rubber game on Comcast SportsNet, will join the guys for his regular Thursday visit. Also, "NFL on FOX" & NFL Network analyst, the now-bearded Brian Billick, will also call in to help plan the Bears' moves they'll make in 2 weeks for the NFL Draft. Plus, Gary from Evanston's favorite segment come 5p this afternoon...

Terry's going to Europe?

He seems like he'd be a miserable person to go on a long trip with.

Dan sounds like he wants the local team's franchise player to have his career ended by a headshot just to prove a point.

Here's the exact game plan as things stand right now:

*3:30p: "The Second Half"
*4p: Palm Beach Post's Ethan Skolnick-Heat/Bulls' NBA Preview
*4:45p: "NFL on FOX"/NFL Network Analyst-(The Now Bearded) Brian Billick
*5p: "WYC?"
*5:30p: Cubs/Comcast SportsNet's Len Kasper

Got all that?

Producers: Jason Goff & Herb Lawrence
"Scoreboard Updates": Matt Rodewald

Hub Arkush follows the guys at 6p, and guests aren't far behind when Hub's on. Joe Ostrowski follows Hub at 10p leading into "SCORE Overnight" with Les Grobstein & Adam Harris at Midnight.

Bernstein and Boers just said that tonight's Bulls/Heat game is not a big game.

You know it is true SHARK. Better to watch Toews get his brains beat in. NHL games mean something.

I don't have a good feeling about Game 1 of Blackhawks/Coyotes tonight. Corey Crawford can't be bad at hockey anymore, regardless if Jonathan Toews returns.

As for Heat/Bulls, you know it's big when Turner Sports has Marv Albert, Steve Kerr & Craig Sager in the house for tonight's game at the U.C.

Clearly TNT did not get the memo. It has been decided this is NOT a big game. Means nothing. The viewing public should stay away.

I don't understand how they can be indignant about listeners wanting them to talk about the Stanley Cup while they're dismissing the concurrent NBA regular season.

"These games don't matter."
"Then talk about the ones that do."
"OHHHHH BOY HERE THEY COME"

Wanna bet? TNT has the next 2 Bulls/Heat games on their air the next 2 Thursdays. If they rematch in the Eastern Conference Finals, Bernsy's buddies in Bristol, CT have the games next month. BOOYAH!

So are we literally at the point where Bernstein now thinks that the entire NBA season is meaningless until the Bulls play the Heat in the playoffs, and even that is pretty meaningless because the Bulls likely aren't good enough to beat the Heat?

No wonder he loves the NBA so much. How can you not enjoy a sport where only 2 weeks of it matter?

That's an irritating column to try to follow. It's like Pierce wanted to cram 12,000 words into 3,000.

Rick, it's not even a sure thing the Heat & Bulls meet in the Eastern Conference Finals anyway. Let's not forget this is a crammed NBA season we're dealing with, and ESPN/ABC's Mike Tirico made a valid point the other day when he was on with "Waddle & Silvy" up the dial. Tirico made the point that we may see surprising results come playoff time that we least expect. Expect anything come April 28th, Day 1 of the NBA Playoffs.

Dan is not consistent with his "we" rule. If he doesn't like the caller, he calls him out on it. If the caller is good (in Dan's mind), he lets it slide. Pick a lane, BernSTINE.

Not only that, but if the Heat destroy the opposition, it's a demonstration of how unbeatable they are. If they lose, they weren't trying.

I hate to disagree with SHARK, but the Bulls playing the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals is 100% guaranteed.
