They named the basketball floor at Tennessee for her. Let's spell her name right if we are to talk about her, folks. It's Pat Summitt. It's my understanding her health hasn't been the best lately.

I know I shouldn't but I laughed. Hard.

They put her in charge of hiding the eggs for the team's Easter egg hunt this year. Then they let her try to find them.

And while it was the third time she's stepped down, we just keep pretending it's the first time. Someday we'll tell her.

Sad story but at least she got to coach one final year and didn't do anything blatently
embarassing. Any one who has coached their team to more than 1000 wins gets my
immediate respect. Hope she can enjoy her retirement to the best of her ability. I am
sure she has a strong support system around her to help when things get tough.

No need to apologize at all. Your posts really don't affect me in any way, except for a tickely feeling in my belly.

Dude, someone's loved ones have died from everything. For the record, my aunt died from this exact disease maybe 6 years ago or so.

Had a member of my family pass away from this as well. That being said, the posts are damn funny.

Found out my dad has been diagnosed with Early on set demntia today.

He has had a lot of issues since his stroke four years ago. He already had some other head type problems since then. We knew there was a possibility some of the issues from the stroke would either be permanent or recurring. Im talking to the doctor tommorow to get a better idea of whats going on. Today was a nurse.

He seems perfectly fine right now, so im not sure how this works or if its severe right away.

Jokes are fine. Comedy helps some people get thru things. At the same time I understand people not liking it.

My grandmother has been dealing with it for the past 4 years. It hit her after a hospital stay and blood transfusion. She was immediately a shell of her former self. Enjoy the time you have with your father before things change. Patience and compassion will be very important. It can get very frustrating at times but putting yourself in his shoes will help. They're scared and frustrated because they also notice the change. Music and things that are mentally stimulating help ward off the decline somewhat. They also have medications. Unfortunately there isn't a cure. It takes dedication. The sacrifice buys you more time to spend together. There are a lot of declines followed by plateaus. I wish you and your family well.

Best wishes to you and your family RPB. Enjoy this time to the fullest, not saying that there are no good days going forward but they come fewer and fewer. Everything Nas said is spot on. We found that music was a big help, it was sort of an anchor that she could always come back to.
