If this is true for Mike & Mike, why isn't it true for Dan Patrick's ratings? OK, his show is not simulcast on TV, he does not have billboards or do arena football games, but he is on ABC's NBA coverage (which I am guessing is watched by more people than arena football) and I do believe he still does SportsCenter. Plus, he used to do those commercials for some crappy chain eatery. Am I off base here? If not, I think you need to come up with a better excuse....

Come one. The ony reason Mike and Mike beat North REGULARLY is because Mike North and his show and his staff SUCK and are a waste of airtime.

No kidding. That excuse is weak. All of Mike & Mike listeners know that Pappy exists. I mean, they all know about the Score and all of them are Chicago sports fans that would love to listen to a good local show.

All of Mike & Mike listeners have sampled Pappy and came to the conclusion that everybody here has - PAPPY SUCKS!!!

That's the reason you lose to them Rock and Pappy. Why can't you guys ever admit that the reason you lose is becasue you aren't good?

Just curious why you guys seem to give Rock a hard time on here all the time. I don't read this section nearly enough to know why that is so I'm not saying it isn't deserved, but that I just don't get it.

because rock is brainwashed. do i expect him to rip on his boss north? of course not, why mess with your job security. but when he comes on here and pretty much mimics north, he needs to get called on it.

Rock, I've got an honest question for you. I rarely tune into North, as I've found him to be a poor listen going back to afternoons with Doug, and I only occasionally browse this forum. I don't really care what North does; I'm not one of the people here who seem to lose sleep over Mike's continued employment. I don't really care for Mike and Mike either, but I can tolerate their show a little more. Basically, I don't really have a horse in this race.

You talk about the "branding" of Golic and Greenberg being the difference maker as to why you are losing in the ratings to them. My question is, why does this matter? They've only been doing Arena League for 3 months or so, they've been on TV for only about a year, and since North moved to mornings he has been getting creamed. You say your year to year growth has shown steady improvement - if you are still losing, doesn't all this only speak to how poor you were doing years ago when North originally moved to mornings?

Also, ever since North and Buffone were losing books to Mac, Jurko, and Harry, North has given excuses for why he can't win. Back then, it was because they had the White Sox. Then, when he moved to mornings, he continued with the Sox excuse. Then, when they didn't have the Sox, Mike complained about billboards. Now he blames ESPN2 at 6 in the morning? What about when they are bumped from TV because of the French Open or some other ass-crack of dawn broadcast - two weeks with no TV, that should make some difference. Yet MNMS has never really been close to them. At what point does Mike take ownership of his show, that maybe it just isn't a good show, and that he needs to revamp things? By all accounts, the two weeks or so Annie was in the penalty box were an improvement. I even listened. But Mike wouldn't/couldn't keep it that way.

Why is it never anyone's fault at 670? I don't hear MVP offer up these excuses to nearly the extent your employer offers them up - its like Jose Canseco naming names. Obviously Mike and Mike aren't going anywhere, so that means YOU guys need to change. Does this happen? Ever?
