Crawford is one of those athletes who can make the great play, but cant make the easy play. Duncan Keith has had the same problem this year. The goal that Crawford gave up in OT last night is inexcusable.
I thought Crawford was going to be a very good replacement for Niemi. I was wrong.
Stan certainly hasn't impressed me at all.

Crawford is a fucking joke and he's under contract for 2 more years albeit at 2.67M. Dump his sorry ass for the first reasonable offer and get a real goaltender.

Corey Crawford doesn't impress me that much. If I were Coach Q, Ray Emery gets the call tomorrow in Game 5. The Blackhawks tend to play much better when Emery's in the nets. I don't know why that is, but Emery's the lesser of two evils in my opinion.

Speaking of which, feast your eyes on this...

Crawford's problem has always been the same: He's an emotional headcase who's got no balls.

Get him the fuck out of here already and be done with it.

Thanks.

Hard to get excited watching the lackluster effort put forth by the Hawk players. They have played with no sense of urgency for most of the series.

Whenever they really try (end of games when they are down), they completely dominate the Coyotes and put some goals in. But as soon as they tie it up, they go back into cruise control. Hell, Hossa gets knocked out and there wasn't any change in intensity on the ice.

Probably worse.

I was trying to explain to the GF that 95% of the time the UC crowd really blows at playoff games. Too many first timers going for the experience, assholes standing up while the pucks in play etc. She was watched the Philly/Pens game with me and was amazed how into it their fans are compared to ours last night.

It was not like that back at the old place.

Crawford's little birds should whisper where he'll be playing next season.

The crowd at this Pens/Flyers game is off the charts right now. Dear "Blackhawk" fans going to the UC - take notes.

I am not at the point of wanting to see Coach Q gone, but realistically how much longer does he have if this team gets knocked out in the first round?

We've been round and round on this board about this, but my stance is the same:

1. He's a HOF coach that won the cup for us 2 years ago. It was 50 years before that when we won and we had guys named Alpo in between.

2. The goaltending on this team has sucked all year. He's has flip-flopped, given both guys ample time. They just aren't any good. That't not a coaching issue. (That's a "my daddy says goalies don't matter issue" for our GM).

3. SOME of the core players aren't performing. Start that list with Duncan Keith, follow it up with Hossa (pre-injury) and on down the line. Hjallmersson is not reliable and Leddy should be 90 miles west on I-90. But again, that's not a coaching issue, right?

4. Injuries really haven't been our friend this year. Yeah, they happen for every team but this hasn't been especially good.

edit:
5. Much like Thibs for the Bulls, Q deserves credit for getting the most out of the call-ups/bench/role players this year. The Kids on the Hawks have been a big part of their success this year.

How can anyone want a coach gone that won a cup less than 3 years ago. There was a lot of turnover on this team. The core is still young. The future is bright.

Exactly.

Doesn't matter what sport you're talking about. Dude won it all 2 years ago.

The problems with the Hawks falls squarely on Stan Bowmans shoulders. He has assembled a team of small fast guys, no size, no physicality, & lousy goaltending. What the hell did Stan Bowman ever do to deserve the job of GM of the Blackhawks, other than being the Son of a legend?

What did Tallon ever do to deserve the job, other than be a loyal kissass to an utter shitheel?

Bowman got the size and physicality people clamored for, unless I just imagined B&B chortling about "ooh, grit and sandpaper, ooh" every time Carcillo made an ass of himself or Bickell crapped his way into healthy scratches. The league regressed around the Blackhawks and their model, but luckily, it regressed around the similarly powerful Red Wings, Canucks, and Penguins as well, and we're just in time for a new CBA to address such things.

Torres gets a 25 game suspension. I take back the bad things I said about Shanaban.

His explanation on NHL.com is really good.

Tyson Nash still thinks it was clean hit. Just setting the tone of the game.
