A lot of players and their agents would have a problem with that.

You mean all the ones that always decline the invitation?

But how will a player's worth be validated now? Announcers and ajents will no longer be able to declare, "This guy's a Pro Bowl caliber player."

Supposedly bonuses will still be paid and encouraged to be put into contracts.

I'd guess they name a team but just don't play a game.

It is actually a financial gain for the teams. How many guys got paid their bonuses because the players selected before them bowed out of the game. So only the real first teamers will get their bonuses and not the second, third or fourth choices.

Have a banquet and highlight show during the SuperBowl week so the players get the recognition. Let them wear a patch on their jerseys or sticker on their helmet. I am not sad at all to hear the game to go away.

Do a skills competition. Have QB's throw at targets way down field, Kickers kick a bunch of weird angled FGs, etc. That would actually be cool to watch.

It's been such a yawner in recent years, it's actually a good idea the NFL is pulling the plug on a game that most don't care about after the first year. A lot of the guys who get selected don't necessarily want to play, especially if they've got a much bigger, more important game the following weekend. Ask the Giants & Patriots.

Ask them what?

Technically, the Gramatica hurt himself celebrating, not kicking.

Maybe the coaches should set up some sort of incentive program where players are rewarded for things like, for example, hard hits. This could motivate the defense to play harder and in turn keep the offense on their toes.

Hub is not the only guy who does that. Just about everyone does.

I think there should be all pro teams named and there isnt really a game. Just the recognition that you are one of the 3 best Qbs or RBs etc that year.

This was years overdue. 1 less broadcast with Berman is a good thing. Now if they could get his ass off of that network entirely.
