Not sure if the Rangers would go for this, but I would love to see us trade Sharp in exchange for Stepan and McDonagh (or Girardi if they would part with him).

Gives us a #2C and a very good #3 defenseman. Rangers are loaded at D so this gives them some scoring punch up front which they need.

Also makes us younger which gives us more time to get back to the Cup.

far from Hockey Expert, but looks like they locked into too much money with players that are far too similar.

Trades in the offseason are stingy. Sharp isn't someone the Hawks are going to so easily send off, and his contract could be a hangup for teams, especially since the CBA is expiring once again.

I don't know enough about the Rangers to evaluate this trade, but I really like the idea. The Hawks have needed a #2C for years. Sharp filled in admirably during the cup run. I'm not sure why they didn't experiment with him again at #2C. But it's obvious this team needs a #2C and at least one top-6 left wing that will crash the net.

Didn't see this before. I agree - trade Sharp. He has the most value on the market and will negatively impact the team the least if he is gone.

I said I wouldn't have minded seeing him shipped when they were in cap hell - for the same reasons, plus he would have been a nice chunk off of the nooks at the time.

Intriguing, but I see no way the Rangers go for it. McDonough won't want to move a big name, either.

No.

Trade away a keystone winger who's not even entered his prime for a goalie on the downturn of his career?

Dumb.

Go find a different section, this type of idiocy is not needed here.

What if they go out tonight to Ottawa and have trouble putting the puck in the net? Might cause a knee jerk reaction to add a 30 goal scoring allstar like Sharp.

ok, scratch this trade idea. After watching the Rangers closely for the last couple games its quite obvious they would laugh in Bowman's face if he even suggested trading Sharp straight up for McDunaugh or Girardi, let alone including Stepan as well.

McDunaugh and Girardi are both all star quality defensemen and the fact that McDunaugh hasn't even been in the league 2 years is downright scary.

Throw in Leddy or Olsen.

They need to add to their winger depth not take away from it, especially on the left...

Getting a second line center of quality from outside of the organization is a far-fetched dream, it's not going to happen.

trade some pups for another top 4 dman... or trade some pups and first round picks for a top 6 Lw'er... do some patch work on the bottom 6, and they'll be fine..

not nearly enough. Girardi and McDun look like #1 defensemen. That's worth a lot more than a 30 year Sharp and maybe.

I want to see them look that way against Philly or someone who isn't Ottawa before I crown their asses...

You mean the Philly team they didn't lose to all season long? Yeah, I think they're up to that challenge.

BTW, I wish we could just skip ahead to the Philly vs Rangers ECF, that is going to be epic, provided Philly doesn't get swept given their recent track record vs the Rangers.

Philly has been a way WAY better team the last two months than they were October-January.
