AJ Jenkins. Not only do the 49ers not need a WR, but nobody had this guy in the 1st round. Sounds like an Al Davis pick.

I'm pretty sure it was Cleveland with the Weeden pick, the 49ers are a close 2nd though.

True. Any time you draft someone who's almost 30 it should be in contention for "worst pick of the draft" status.

Nobody knows shit about how any of these picks will play, but the Weeden pick looks real shaky. They should have waited and taken Cousins.

I'm going to go ahead and have to disagree with you on this pick. Not that I think it was the best pick available, but I believe he can give you a solid 7yrs+, if they can protect for him and let him do his thing. I see him dissecting defenses with a strong and accurate arm for the near future. They got themselves a true professional who understands what it takes to get the job done.

He's been a true professional for less than 12 hours.

That's all fair. I only say he's a de facto bad pick because of his age, which as you said is potentially misleading, considering his position. *shrug*

I still say trading up one spot by the Browns was the worst pick. If they wanted a QB/RB combination why not go with Tannehil and Doug Martin and save the picks too.

Tannehill to the Dolphins at 9 is bad.

I like the Weeden pick. It's not like the dude is getting 28M guaranteed.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the Dolphins with Tannehill. It was an admittedly desperate move by an organization in a serious funk. I never got the impression that he was a first rounder while watching him, let alone a top 10 talent.

The Dolphins had no choice but to take Tannehill. They utterly screwed themselves with a piss-poor offseason and whiffed on every free agent quarterback available, even Alex Smith. They couldn't NOT take Tannehill, and while it may not have been the best value at 8, he's arguably got enough upside to justify it during his career.

I don't know why they wouldn't have rolled with a Kyle Orton for this year and then Kirk Cousins or Russel Wilson with a late round pick for the future.

They very easily could have NOT taken Tannehill. Move down...He was still going to be there until Cleveland picked Weeden.

He probably isn't going to make a difference on next year's season and they could not make their fans any angrier. They could have easily taken the best player available knowing full well that no matter the outcome of this year's draft, they are most likely in the Matt Barkley sweapstakes next year. Now, they may end up with a Christian Ponder situation.

So you're saying the Chiefs or Cardinals wouldn't have taken him? The Browns still had some leverage to move up to get him too. The Browns could've waited for Richardson too, but they didn't take a gamble on it and did the right thing in moving up. Dolphins similarly couldn't take the chance on trying to swerve down the ladder and throw caution to the wind that he'd fall to their lower pick. If you've got your guy, you've got your guy. Stay true to the board.

I'm gonna step out on a big wobbly shaky branch and guess that Dewskie doesn't watch a whole lot of college football.
