Also, Bobby Lou has officially asked to be traded, Tampa and Toronto are reportedly on the list.

If there is a place that could put even more pressure on him than Vancouver it would be Toronto. He would probably turn into a shitty regular season goalie there.

What a moron!
How is he gonna get that 10 years $40 million traded???
He would have to opt out of contract to be traded.

Tampa will be under the cap with a good set of core players locked up.
Toronto, on the other hand, is just stupid...so they would overpay.

The whole league knows he's a head case. I'd be surprised if he gets traded without a renegotiation. He's no spring chicken either, and there's a damned decade on this contract remaining (though his is the kind of contract that the NHL is now cracked down on)

True, but you can never underestimate the stupidity of people. On Greg Wynshynski's podcast yesterday he suggested a Duncan Keith for Lou trade, purely for the comedy involved.

Luongo is a perfect Thursday at 5:00 candidate if enough people cared.

One of the reasons he demanded his way out of Florida was he wanted to get big time money and be in a big time hockey market.
Now he wants to go to Tampa Bay?

I'm definitely riding shotgun in the Rangers bandwagon the rest of the way. That's a fun team to watch and they have more good american players than all the other teams in the league put together. Callahan, Creider, Stepan, McDunaugh, Boyle. And I like Gaborik and Henrik.

That Rangers vs Ottawa game was a great game to watch between two teams that weren't afraid to play hockey. Lots of teams could take a lesson. I would hope that players from Phoenix, Nashville, Washington and all the other chickenshit teams were embarrassed for themselves while watching this game.

At first I wanted the Panthers to win this series, but now I just came to the realization that I don't want either team to win... #westcoaststyle

That was quite a game between the Devils & Panthers. Seems hard to believe it's been 15 years or so since Florida advanced in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

While the Predators/Coyotes' Western Conference Semifinal starts tonight on NBC Sports Network, DIRECTV 603 at 8p from Glendale, AZ, the Kings/Blues' series starts tomorrow night at 6p, also on NBCSN. The remaining teams out West all have really good goaltending, and goals will be at a premium.

NBC5 has both Eastern Conference Semifinals and a couple of doozies. The Rangers host the Capitals, I believe tomorrow at MSG @ 2p, while the Devils/Flyers' series starts Sunday afternoon, I believe in Philadelphia.

If the games aren't on NBC5, NBC Sports Network has them from here on out after NHL Network and even CNBC had games in Round 1, as well as NBC's own Comcast SportsNet locally.

No worries Troll. The Blues should take care of them in short order.

Wouldn't it be something if the Rangers renewed a classic rivalry with the Devils in the East, let alone Kings & Coyotes out West? Then again, these are the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and even with the Blackhawks now watching from home like you & me, these matchups should be doozies. NBC Sports is definitely getting their money's worth with all of these games to this point, and ratings boosts according to CNBC's Darren Rovell.

I'm firmly on the Rangers and Kings bandwagon the rest of the way or until they get eliminated. If Philly didn't have such Dbag fans I would be pulling for them as well, but its too hard to wish a Cup upon those heathens so I can't do it. Gonna be hard enough being a Nashville fan for the next week and a half.

I have a guy from London in town next week Monday to Friday. He just moved to the US for 3 years on the corporate training program. I explained the game of Hockey to him a few days ago & he wants to see a game. I will make damn sure that he does NOT see any of the games in the Coyotes / Predators series, as there is no way in hell that this series can showcase the game of Hockey in a good light. These 2 teams deserve each other. Its a shame one of them has to win & move on. These 2 teams play a style that is not good for Hockey. This shit is painful to watch.
The only good thing about this series is the 2 great Goalies. Both Smith & Rinne were great.

The trap both teams play is the same kind of dull shit that the league was trying to eliminate years ago with the rule changes. The Devils used it to their great success, and their title runs pushed away potentially new fans every year because it was the most yawn-inspiring crap ever. Hopefully whoever wins this series loses in the next round so nobody has to suffer through that junk in the finals.

As far as your friend goes, he's likely a big soccer/football fan, so even the dullest game of hockey should seem terribly exciting to him. Soccer is, at least to me, hopelessly boring.

Renegotiating contracts is expressly prohibited in the current CBA, and I can't see Fehr letting that into the new one. They might be stuck with his contract forever.

Oh and as far as Coyotes-Predators goes, the winner of Trap-Off 1 gets the winner of Trap-Off 2, so looks like you'll have to shield people from the West final, too.
