If you think Rose is coming back next season (6 months from now) and is going to be an impact, sorry.

He isnt back until 2014 and who knows how good he will be even then. His game is quickness, stopping, elevation etc. No way a surgery can get him back to what he once was. He will still be good, but is not going to be the scoring machine he was, so you just gave Max money to Jason Kidd.

2015, they trade him for a high pick to someone as he will have one year left on his deal, they will have their own high pick due top be being bad after trading rose and then have the Bobcats 1st rounder, which you know will be a good pick!

3 picks, top 12? So now I need to project the nations top juniors in HS...and we ened right back at Simeon!

Correct. His game is 0 to 100 mph in a second off a defensive rebound outlet pass, explosiveness to the hole and that lighting first step to create for himself or others. Very likely that's all gone forever.

Is his career over? No. Old man Nash is still decent. But you don't win a title with a decent Rose. You needed the elite Rose for that.

I guess this is the type of shit that happens when you turn your back on your close close friends because your brother who was also protected by these friends tells you to.

People talk in this city. Rose was protected by 2 close friends. They took care of him when he was down, always had his back, making sure nobody ever fucked with him. They made a pact with one another that if one of them got famous or rich they would take care of the other. I'm not talking like casual friends either, I'm talking about guys that grew up with Rose when he was a kid riding bikes in the streets. 3 guys that were close and 2 of them were just up and left after years and years of friendship because Derrick's older brother told him to cut them out of his life. Now he can't or won't come back into the same neighborhood as he grew up in. He's that hated. Maybe this is karma catching up to him.

FWIW I have heard this same story from more than a few people that knew Derrick before he made it.

Running backs are making it back from ACL surgery and are still successful. Let's hope Rose gets back to 90%.

What in the ever loving blue hell does that have to do with his knee injury?

I'll take that Karma. Rose has 300 million coming to him over the next 10 years in shoe and Bulls money. The friends he dumped will probably always be poor. Karma? No. It's a knee injury cuz he plays sports. That happens.

By the way, there are probably 2 sides to this. These guys might be gang members or druggies. I wouldn't expect Rose to help them even if he rode bikes with them when they were kids. C'mon. Sell crazy some place else. I girl in 2nd grad told me she loved me. When I grew up I never held her to that and made her marry me. This isn't a Disney movie. We live in the real world.

I'm not still friends with the kids I used to ride bikes with. Hell, I'm not still best friends with my best friends from high school or even college. This happens to everybody everywhere. People grow up, change and move on. People tend to hang out/be friends with people that are similar to them.
Sounds like a couple guys are mad because they can't get a piece of his bazillions.

Maybe because I have been stressed/drinking a lot more lately but I have been thinking more and more shit happens for a reason. I know I'm reaching here but in my mind, Rose's injury might be karma. Him having everything in the world at his finger tips and all of a sudden it's pulled out from underneath him=karma.

You could have lead off with this line. Would have made this thread shorter.

Maybe his buddies are ass holes and Rose dumping them after he became rich is their "Karma".

Maybe it's just me, but I would remember the people that I was close with before I got rich and famous. The people that gave a shit about me before I could do anything for them.

Like I said, I have heard this from multiple people so take that for what it's worth. Maybe they could be all wrong about Rose and the story, but maybe they aren't.

Everybody has friends when they're kids. You can't take care of everybody just cuz you grew up with them.

You think all famous and rich people take care of the kids they went to grammar school with? Hate to break it to you, but they don't. Not Michael Jordan. Not Robert DiNero. Not anyone famous. I'm not gonna knock Rose for that.

Rose will be fine and that Kidd comparison is terrible

Do you really think that? So much of his game has been moving quickly to the hoop with the ball. I can't imagine that he won't lose at least some of that ability. It seems to me the very attributes that made him great are in jeopardy with this injury. I didn't think he could play the way he did for very long anyway, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise that it happened as soon as it did. I could completely see him being like Jason Kidd. That wouldn't be the end of the world either. Kidd is a no doubt Hall of Famer.

i actually think this is well thought out and rational thinking by big fan
in 2016 Wade will either be retired or at the end of the line; Miami will at the very least be on the downswing
there aren't a whole lot of other teams in the East that you can really say are on their way up...maybe the Nets if they get Howard
Hawks will be bad, Celtics will be bad/rebuilding, Pacers will always be middle of the road, Magic will be bad....
point being if you assemble a few high picks you're back in business
