I heard The SCORE's Kerry Sayers give a surprising nugget in her 11:30a "Scoreboard Update". There are 152 players in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball with at least 1 homer so far. Albert Pujols is NOT one of them. How 'bout that?!

Blame his wife and her cunty comments right after he signed with LAA. This Cardinals "team" has been more fun to watch without Albert anyway.

The Cardinals haven't skipped a beat without him. Still a first place team in the NL Central.

i always said prince>pujols...prince is clean and pujols is dirty.....actually it was a great sign for the angels even if pujols sucks due to the t.v. revenue they will get 3 billion over the next 20 years ...so c.j. wilson and pujols are chump change.

Right. NL and Playoff MVP's make you team less fun. Come on now.

I'm saying it feels more like a team right now than previously when it was Albert putting up his monster numbers and just hoping someone else would make a significant impact. Everyone is contributing now.

Season is still young. Just about every fantasy team I have is counting on him to rebound. I wish I could buy low on him though. When those vitamins finally start working it's going to be bad for AL pitchers.

AL > NL.

Not that there isn't HGH to blame, but I think the uptick in pitching may be playing a big role...

The better pitchers are in the NL and he's never had a problem during interleague play. He struggled earlier last season and bounced back. Trying to live up to that contract can be tough.

nah..verlander is the best in the mlb and c.c. not far behind..but a #3 pitcher in a.l. is a #5 in a.l. ...1-5 the a.l. is much better.

0 HRs in 101 ABs. If he finishes with around 10 HR and 550ish ABs thats gotta be one of the most disappointing seasons in baseball history by a player.

Saw a video breakdown of his swing on BBTN. His stance is way off, very slouched. Entirely different this season. Guessing it has more to do with that than roids, but you never know.

The difference between the leagues isn't that great. That's what that moron Rongey was trying to beat the caller with regarding the failures of Adam Dunn last year on the clip B&b played yesterday. They apparently thought it illustrated how crazy the callers are, when, in fact, it just showed Rongey to be a goof. The AL may be- may be- slightly stronger right now, but the gap has been closed in the last couple seasons. It isn't something that makes guys go from hitting 50 homers down to 15.

I think the AL is better, not by much but I don't think its a maybe anymore with Pujols and Price out of the NL.

I think the disparity in the leagues from about '04-'08 was greater than any time since the NL began its long run of domination in the late 50s. The cause of that was obvious- the NL accepted blacks and Latinos much more readily than the AL. I'm not sure why the AL became so dominant in the mid-2000s. There are all kinds of theories, some having to do with the DH.

Is Albert Pujols 2012speak for Adam Dunn? Too early to tell, but they're both earning a lot of $$$$...

For those who believe his struggles are due to better pitching in the AL, the last 22 starters he's faced:

Liam Hendricks
Liriano
Blackburn
Derek Lowe
Jeanmar Gomez
Masterson
Moore
Hellickson
Price
Wei-Yin Chen
Arrietta
Matusz
Tommy Milone
Colon
Tyler Ross
McCarthy
Ivan Nova
Hughes
Kuroda
Liriano
Pavano
Blackburn

look at the interleague numbers...a.l. pitching is superior ..... john danks would be an ace in the n.l. maybe a great #2...he is just a guy in the a.l.

Yes, the AL dominates interleague. I'm still not buying your "#5 in the AL = #3 in the NL" argument, assuming that's what you meant. Don't forget that San Diego and Pittsburgh are doormats, regardless of what league they're in (a combined 168-258 overall interleague record). And you really think Danks would be an ace in the NL?

Henderson Alvarez, Kyle Drabek & Drew Hutchison. They are the three Blue Jays' right-handers who start this weekend's Toronto/Anaheim series. Which of these 3 becomes the answer to a trivia question? Which of these 3 allows Albert Pujols' first homer as an Anaheim Angel?

That'd be a pretty shitty trivia question.

Ok, ok, ok. Three active players have 2,000 hits, 200 HR, and 200 SB.

Go!
