Beardown: Pitcher going out for the 8th with a 10-0 lead coming off 5 injuries, is that OK?

CSFMB: Of course not you dumb ass cracker, that would be stupid.

Beardown: Same thing as what happened with Rose.

CSFMB:

Beardown: Like badrogue said, Towes playing late in the 3rd when the Hawks have a 4-0 lead and he gets another concussion, is that OK?

CSFMB: Of course not you Son of a bitch, that would be stupid. We would all call for Q to be killed.

Beardown: Same thing as what happened to Rose.

CSFMB:

Beardown: Now do you get it?

CSFMB: We're sorry, Beardown. You're right. We're sorry. Forgive us?

Beardown: Sure. It's OK. I forgive you.

CLH: The risk is there always. It is there in practice as well. The risk does not increase or decrease. The issue is that his body and the way he plays and the accumulation of injuries have increased the risk. That is not a coaches fault. He needs to play his best player, no matter what the time is. Stop making excuses for the fact that Rose is injury prone.

Beardown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEMjeYPfqSg

Ummm no . Play a guy who is prone to injuries when he doesn't need to be in the game? You think if the Blackhawks had a 3 goal lead with 5 minutes left to play and he ran Toews out there for a couple more shifts after being out with the concussion and Toews got hurt that Quenneville wouldn't be catching holy hell for having him out there? its fair to question why Thibs had Rose in the game at that point.

Mmm-hmm.

Just saw how one of the Nike shoe designers criticized Rose for choosing Adidas. While it's bad form to make such a dig, it made me wonder whether it's possible the shoes that Rose wore had anything to do with the injury. Do teams have to approve the shoes the players wear? Seems like these companies are always looking to create new designs (to sell more shoes of course) and I wonder if they are rigorously tested.

It would be doubly painful for Adidas if they were stuck paying a fortune to an inactive Rose and it turned out their design was faulty.

I'm comfortable saying Rose will play until he's at least 30.

You believe otherwise.

One of us will be right. The other will be Walt.

The biggest question for this team is will they accept going forward that Rose can't single handedly bring this team a title. He maybe could've done it before, but it's not only doubtful, but irresponsible to think that he could do that in the future. This team needed another star yesterday.

Yes!

I was worried that Da' Bulls would take the line of "Rose is our star now lets get some bit players around him". That scares me. Depending on the lasting issues with his knee and the fact that he may have to alter his game, this Bulls team needs another star. Boozer isn't it, they were kinda forced to take Hamilton when Butler was off the table etc.

They need a legit 2 that can stay on the court and score and whatever. At this point, and I may be wrong for all I know but I may be right, Rose may miss some time each year...I know, it isn't a stretch....but Hamilton is on borrowed time and Boozer is, well, Boozer.

it's almost guaranteed that Booze is gone after this year. They can go to arbitration with him and get the wheels rolling on that. I'd say this is the last stand for a number of Bulls. Until they get a legit 2nd star, everybody's up for grabs.

I know that this is all hindsight, but this team would be in a better place had they given max money to Joe Johnson in 2010.

Kid, make your case, why would they be in a better position?

Because the Bulls, without Rose especially, but even sometimes with him, go through significant periods of time where they simply can't score. Yes, guys like JL3 or Korver can get hot, but you can't depend on that. And against a team like Miami who is very underrated defensively, you need a guy who can take the ball and just score, or at least get to the foul line at will.

With Joe, you have a guy who no matter what can get you 25-30 in his sleep. They'd still be a good defensive team. Boozer wouldn't be here, but Taj is better than Boozer in every category except for his scoring, which wouldn't be as much of an issue anyway if you had an actual scorer like Joe Johnson.

That's my case, but when a guy like Nas makes a comment like "Terrible basketball thought" without at least trying to engage in discussion, then what's the point?

Joe got $120M. As much as I dislike Boozer, I would rather pay him $80M. JJ isn't a difference maker. The Bulls would be in cap hell if they gave him that type of money. He can't play defense either. Rip can get his own shot too and it's only costing the Bulls $10M for 2 years.

Edit: Joe doesn't average anywhere near 25 or 30 points a game. In fact, he's never done it in his career. He only scored 30 points 6 times this season.
