I wouldn't have thought I would ever point this out, but Noah mattered. He would have helped. Is Gibson hurt too? Couldn't see it and didn't understand why late they didn't have him in there.

This team has checked out.

I dare not say "blow it up," but they need to get That Guy here, and if it requires shelling off Noah, Gibson, or Deng to do so, do so.

What? No?

I meant "That Guy" as the elusive 2 guard that can be the Pippin to Rose's Jordan (or vice versa). I wasn't trying to ambiguously reference someone, just saying that this is a one-man team. Never has it been more obvious than now.

That guy is hard to find. It'd be nice to upgrade the 2 and 4 spot but we just need OUR guy back. With him the Bulls are clearly one of the best teams in the league and title contenders. Losing an MVP is supposed to adversely effect the team this much.

Our Guy may never be The Guy after that injury, so it's irresponsible to continue surrounding him with a roster full of (talented) role players.

what, you want the bulls to firesale everyone but rose and noah? try to get another lottery pick? that is ridiculous. a big trade would be fine, but theres no way theyre going to shake things up that much

Not what I was saying. I was saying if there's an opportunity to acquire a star, you acquire him. Don't hold precious to Noah and Deng and the others if it means acquiring a bonafide scorer.

What would be irresponsible would be blowing up a team that had the best record in the league two years in a row and is easily one of the top 3 rosters in the league because of an overreaction to an injury. And plenty of players have come back from ACL injury so given Rose's age, talent, and work ethic it'd be pretty unwise to make roster moves based on the assumption he wont come back as one of the best players in the league.

I agree getting another superstar would be ideal. But Howard is the only top 10 level talent available probably, and most Bulls fans agree they don't want him. Who else are you getting? You could amnesty Boozer and offer that money to Eric Gordon this summer but last I heard the Bulls won't amnesty Boozer. Maybe a 2nd straight underwhelming postseason would change their mind. Either way, there's nobody available that's a superstar Pippen level talent.

Best record in the league and home court advantage have sure made this team do a bang up job so far, yes? Without Rose, all that talent on the floor is worthless. I agree that pickings are slim, but even a guy like Gordon or just an acceptable 2 that's not coming off the downslope of his career is the difference between the bums that are simpering around the court now and a title run.

No... Rose's injury is what is between them and a title run. They lost last season in their first try at it, and Rose got hurt this season. Thats not exactly a long run. Losing Boozer and adding Gordon would probably make the team better, but not necessarily. The Bulls frontcourt has been a big reason for their success and we don't know if Gibson is ready to step in.

This season, yes. I'm referring to going forward.

That's silly then. There's no reason to think this isn't a title contending roster going forward. One thing I like about GarPax is they don't seem to panic and have built a team that can contend for years.

said at the time ...and so did john jurkovich ...deng should have had surgery immediately ...he would have been healed up and 100 % for the post season...that dumb ass move falls on paxson... thibbs works the team too hard night in and out trying to grind out wins...he needs to think big picture not night to night..he seems very stubborn ...rose better learn to stop going full throttle every minute of every game too...not enough taj and rip hamilton blows..said it at the time awful signing..and fuck kyle korver too...and john lucas sucks..i don't want any 5 foot 9 players on the bulls at any time.

You do realize that Rose hasn't played since the first game, right? Cause it seems like you forgot that otherwise not sure how you could post something like that about a team that had the best record in the league and would've easily contended for a title this year if he was healthy.

Why the hell would you blow that up? Team doesn't need anyone else, it just needs a healthy Rose.

If there is enough concern that Deng will have wrist surgery and miss the first few months of next season, that's probably enough of an open question to probably greatly limit his market.

Carlos Boozer isn't going anywhere.

That leaves J.Noah, Taj Gibson and Omer Asik. I'm not sure if they are going to be able to pay Gibson and Asik the money it will take to keep both of them around so one or both could be on the market this off-season and/or the Bulls may look to move Noah for a scorer. I'm just not sure if a team is going to give up a top scorer on a team for a role player like Noah. Possible, but I can easily see the Bulls holding still next season and just seeing where they stand when Rose returns (which my guess is after the all-star break).

when did i say that? before or after we got rose? also, kirk would still be extremely valuable to this team. hes a lot better then jl3.

who would we replace noah with (thats available) that would be that much better then him?

I like how Asik is playing but Philly is playing really aggressively. I hope they dont keep that pace up. Boozer looks confused out there.
