They had two premium starters with him in the rotation. Now they've got fragile Peavy, big-stuff guy Floyd who is maddeningly inconsistent, "Losing Pitcher" John Danks, Humber, and a rookie. I'd start Sale until his fucking arm fell off. Seventy innings in relief isn't helping you that much.

The Tigers scored 3 runs on Sunday, and won. The Indians scored 3 runs last nite and won. Some teams obviously can win by scoring 3 runs.

This isn't a bad team. I can just see things aren't going to line up right for them. On the nights they score, the pitching will be shitty. On the nights the pitching dominates, they'll have trouble scoring. They'll probably end up about 82-80. The frustrating thing about that is that Detroit will win the division with around 87 wins and Thornton will have blown ten games.

That's normal baseball. Teams average 5.5 runs or so per game. Shit got so out of whack in the "Steroid Era" that people expect a team to give a pitcher seven runs of "run support".

By the way, Chris, do you think it might be a good idea to take this one-pitch AA reliever out before the game is over?

John Danks had an ERA over 6 going into today. Sox scored 6 runs yesterday, and Humber got beat up. Indians lit up Danks last week at the Cell. The pitching staff owes the offense at this point.
